I also think Nolan Smith being out is big for the puppy defense. I know they don't have many sacks, but isn't he their sack leader? And Jalen Carter is coming off of an injury. It's gonna suck for him when he gets caught on the field because our tempo doesn't allow for subs. I think we beat them even if their defense is healthy, but their defense isn't healthy.

I feel like Bennett isn't a good enough QB and this year's Bulldog team (especially on defense) just isn't anywhere near the same level as last year's.

Last year before they played us they had beaten Clemson (3rd at the time) beaten Arkansas (8th at the time) at Auburn (18th at the time) and Kentucky (11th at the time). They were a bit more battle tested and the 17 points we scored were the most any team had put on them that season until they got a taste of a real offense (Bama) and gave up 41.

This year we're the first real offense they'll be facing on the season, only they've already given up 20 or more 3 times and have only played one ranked team in Oregon (11th at the time). We rolled up 387 and 17 points and that was the 3rd most points/yards they allowed. Only Bama (twice) had higher totals.

I really hope Kirby tries to play man on Saturday. Unless you have 3 NFL corners it ain't gonna work. Even with 3 it wouldn't work all the time. Kirby is gonna be way to aggressive and Hyatt is just gonna run right by everyone again
I think that what Kirby does with his secondary is kind of irrelevant. The only way I see a defense stopping or slowing down this offense is if you get pressure on Hooker, and by pressure I really mean getting sacks or hitting him as he's throwing. You can't merely hurry him because he's so good at escaping the pocket. It's also possible our offense beats itself with turnovers, but we really haven't shown a propensity to do that lately.

The key for UGA in this game is that, plus Stetson is going to need to make some plays in their passing game. He should be looking for Bowers and Washington early and often. I think folks nationally are starting to see that our defense overall isn't quite as bad as it appears, but our rush defense specifically has been pretty good all year long. Unfortunately for UGA, running the ball is their bread and butter, so offensively they actually don't match up all that well against our defense.

I tend to lean to the team with the better QB and pass rush. That feels like us by a good margin in this game.

I just want to see desperate Kirby that fake punts from his own 20.

UGA averages 37 pass attempts per game.

For perspective, Vols average 31. But they are very effective rushing

I think they are trying to agitate the GA crowd into being as loud as possible because they know it will hurt the GA defense more than the TN offense...........diabolical
Never even thought of that. How can a defense communicate while we're on offense if their fans are being so loud? Do we even need to communicate verbally with our offensive scheme?

Atlanta sports talk was interesting just now. They’re saying that UGA at #3 and Erik Ainge’s tweet about Sanford not being loud is rat poison and just what Smart needs to motivate the team. No one has played TN like UGA will as they plan to put pressure on our WRs to slow them down. It’s also the biggest recruiting weekend in UGA history so they want to impress the visitors.

However, his final statement was about tickets. The 3rd party brokerage told him that in the past week a major push for expensive tickets took place and that all of the IP addresses for the buyers were Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga. He expects the Vols could bring up to 20k people so be ready for orange.
If they play man all day, then Hooker and our RBs will have a field day running the ball, and we will toast them over the top.

Nailed it. The louder they are, the harder it is for their defense to communicate. Add in the fast tempo, no subs, and multiple formations...they will have busts. I don't think the crowd noise will keep the offense from being on the same page. We'll probably have a few false starts, but it shouldn't be a huge problem.

As a team Georgia has 10 sacks & 9 turnovers (6 ints 3 fumbles). We have 21 sacks & 16 turnovers (9 ints 7 fumbles). A strong case could be made that our defense might be -better- than theirs too, especially when you look at who they played against who we've played.

What was the headline?
Some clickbait or antagonistic malarky about a guy formerly on our roster (portalled out) in trouble, but they falsely screamed instead "Tennessee player"!!! like one of the guys on this team is in trouble. Reprehensible or grossly incompetent. And even worse this morning. I don't care to recall more details than that.

I saw that comment made about the LSU game and how the crowd noise (early) hurt their defense. Our offense necessitates a lot of quick verbal defensive communication.

We had multiple redzone trips that resulted in 0 points too. We moved the ball all game - just couldn't finish.

I don't see how GA or bowl cut could be any more fired up by yesterday than what they already were. (I know fans talk like that.)

Hope that is true about the tickets. I have seen two Vols wins there and it is a great place to win!

I am concerned about them holding our receivers.
We are the darling of the SEC and the media right now. Our offense and brand are attracting more eyeballs and media attention than anyone else. Everyone who would potentially influence officials to call one way or another will be telling them to favor Tennessee. No way the refs will be giving UGA the calls.

If we were to beat Bama again in the SEC championship..they ain't getting in the playoffs for us to play three times.

That dumb follower 💩 gets on my nerves...everybody just trying to be one of the cool kids saying the cool stuff.

Back in the early 90s I was gonna get some cool tats...and then it seemed like everybody everywhere started doing it...so I never did.
Yeah, I dont have any tats, and now I'm the one who is different.

I'd call Oregon a real offense, but that was in the first game of the season and it's really the only good offense they've faced.

Kentucky gave us a good taste of what they’re about. They haven’t seen anything like us yet. Bowlcut gonna have to learn on the fly!
