So, I had a friend tell me that it wasnt all NIL, it was a specific NIL deal that had Banks upset. I really wonder if it had anything to do with the mustard one.

It wouldn't be surprising to see UGA get the Peach Bowl, LSU the Sugar and Bama the Orange, with no SEC teams in the Fiesta, Rose or Cotton. UT opened the door to that scenario, not with two losses per se but because of the way the Vols played.
Bama and LSU getting better bowl games when they both lost head to head would be some BS.

Oddly enough, this loss has affected me very little. It's like my mind has gone back to where it's been for most of the last 10 years, shrugging off disastrous losses. I just don't know if fate will ever allow Tennessee football to truly be good.

Meh

I’m getting here. I know a lot has to go right for a team to win a natty but it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s as close as we’ll get for a long long time.

I assumed Bama to the Sugar..... didnt know we had a dog in the fight with the Orange

I could see it but LSU played about as poorly at home against us as we did on the road against Carolina and so I do think slotting LSU ahead would be completely a function of recency bias.

You'd think we were 4-8 reading the board today.
It is understandably impossible for most of us to not he able to have good perspective right now....that was not just a loss, it was a horrible nightmarish loss.

The kind of loss that makes you think EVERYTHING you have seen and felt this season was an illusion...or a cruel cruel joke.

We will lose to Vandy and the bowl game unless we find enough players that actually care about winning and playing decent ball to field a defense capable of helping us win.

I believe there were some guys that basically threw the game out of pure spite....NOTHING else makes any sense. When you look at the numbers...that is the only thing that those numbers add up to.

I lmao when middle aged men talk sh*t like they’re tough about these dudes who they would suck up to in real life.
Brilliant thing about message boards and social media right? If people actually typed like they were standing right in front of someone the world might be a better place. But angry people want company too I suppose.

The emotional rollercoaster and recency bias is amazing to watch play out in real time.

People are so caught up on "but we only had to win 2 more"...as if we didn't HAVE to win those previous 9 to even be in this position. But people let the order of events take precedence. If this game had been a month ago and we were sitting here at 9-2 all the same, people would be ecstatic. And yet there's zero difference, beyond how people perceive it.

Idk how some folks get through the ups and downs of everyday life smdh

Jeremy Banks is lucky to have you, man. All these middle aged men out here saying words on the internet and whatnot.
He should be given the benefit of the doubt until the players and coaches have their meeting and make the call. We should all be patient bs blaming any player to this point. It it’s all true, so be it.

They're not going to look at it like that. UT has looked borderline inept, uninterested, done-- take your pick-- in two games, the last one a blowout loss to an unranked team that the Vols were favored to beat by three scores. All with the playoffs on the line. The damage is done. LSU is geographically a good fit for the Sugar. And Bama and Clemson will be perceived as a better matchup than a struggling UT against Clemson or another strong finisher in the Orange.

We're NOT going to lose to Vandy.
We are if they don't find enough decent defensive players that actually care about winning and want to play.

You can't roll empty uniforms out there or Vandy will hang 50+ on us.

That is what happened yesterday. I know it wasn’t all the guys, but it was enough of them to cause a disaster.
