That certainly helps but there is still a lot more skill and execution shown than basketball. It helps that it is different enough from baseball so there isn't a comparable men's sport that is infinitely more watchable.
Ehh that's a good point. But basketball is just objectively far more entertaining than baseball/softball.

But yeah you don't see as many pathetic displays of skill as women's basketball.

But I also feel like some baseball fans would feel the same way when you watch softball.

Women’s bball is just like every other sport - cyclical. Once a legend retires, there’s gonna be “down” years. Just was wondering, after seeing the records, why everyone was hating on them.

How many active women’s bball coaches have NCs? I don’t know that number but I’m sure it’s a small pool.

Considering the dominance of Pat Summit & Geno Auriemma it's a pretty small number, but I didn't mention NCs as the desire, just having a team that's in the top 15 and at least making the sweet sixteen.

But here's the list of past winners. What's frustrating is 2 active SEC coaches are on this list (neither is at or was at UT though) it would be 3 but Gary Blair retired after last season at A&M

So how long is the proper length of time to languish in mediocrity before fixing it? Are you supposed to be content for a cooling off period, then wake up one day and decide it matters? Bama took a while to get from Bryant to Saban, but I don't think they said "Hey, we're ok with sucking for a while." With the history of the LVs, the legacy of Pat, and an AD who is clearly in possession of a clue, I'm thinking it's about time.

Had heard of astral projection before, but didn't really know what it was. It sounds interesting and not scary like sleep paralysis which sucks.
Might have to at least give it a try sometime early in the morning.

Have you been practicing it for a long time? Sounds like it may take some time to get down the silver rope method. And tbh I'm a bit more skeptical but who knows

I've been doing it for 20+ years, usually only do it about twice a month or less when I try.

I started getting sleep paralysis in my teens. That stuff is terrible. I've been frozen and feel like something evil is in the room, just waiting to attack.

I started reading about it after I had the accidental astral projection episode the 1st time. It's a lot easier to do for people who are prone SP (sleep paralysis).

You're changing the steps to falling asleep. . . normally you doze off, next you enter SP, then REM. Basically you are starting SP before you are actually sleeping. You are asleep enough to enter SP, but aware enough realize it.

It's so strange, because you're not in a regular dream world, you're in a version of your real-life reality. Everything seems identical, except you can fly, go through walls, manipulate objects, etc.

Of course it is a dream world, your brain just recreates your lucid reality. I'd like to get to the akashic records, if it is like how it's been described. It's thought that this is what Edgar Cayce was doing.

Strange stuff.

Does Tobe Awaka remind anyone else of Jarnell Stokes? His strength for a freshman is amazing. His hands and ability to never be knocked around is top notch. Also has decent touch around the basket and is an underrated defender simply because he cannot be moved. To think that he and Zakai came from the same place with such little fanfare is amazing to me when you analyze their games and productivity per minute.

I think that is actually a good comparison. Awaka has more instincts and motor rebounding. Stokes probably had better touch around the rim. But very similar body types and skill sets.

She's Hollie 2.0 by how she coaches, acts on the floor. You see a 70% win rate, but most of that is from the talent she has. Can recruit, but meh on the floor.

Maybe Butch 2.0 is a better comp.

Holly 2.0 is an awful, and frankly lazy, comparison. Holly and Kelly are both flawed coaches. But their strengths and weaknesses are completely different. If you know what you are looking for, the team has made some definite strides this season. Last season was difficult to watch and I was not sure if it would get better at this point. Some big picture structural stuff has improved quite a bit. It can be deceiving because of how poorly the season started. But the last month has shown some glimmer of hope. I think Kelly can continue to take steps to get to the next level of competing at the top again. I would not have said that last season. First thing that HAS TO HAPPEN though is for her to bring in an "offensive coordinator" assistant coach. We needed to be harder to guard with the type of action that we use on offense. This staff is in GREAT shape with some of the best talent in the country (some of which is in Tennessee) in the next few classes.

She was on another level recruiting compared to Kellie.

Yes and no. Holly had no idea "what" she was recruiting outside of the physical profile and a ranking beside the players name that was given by some recruiting service. There was no evaluation of skillset, basketball IQ, fit in the program. Honestly, it was the lazy type of hype recruiting that Butch Jones thought would work. Holly, for lack of a better term, was clueless in the big picture of what she was doing. And then when it came to scheme and development she just "rolled the ball out" and said play hard.

What do we need to do to get that rolling? Imagine the eye balls and revenue a winner there could generate 👀

They've made the tournament 3 of the last 5 seasons for their current coach. Oddly enough she's also married with a husband on her staff just like KJH.

Got some news today that shook me a bit. My son, who is 40, has to have a heart procedure. His doctor said he presents with paroxysmal SVT that is quite symptomatic. It's my understanding they're gonna do a catheter ablation procedure and it's successful in 95% of patients. I'm praying that he's in the 95% group.

His doctor is a cardiac electrophysiologist and I'm praying that he's a good one. They're trying to get him set for the procedure as quickly as possible. I'll be heading to New Hampshire as soon as he gives me the date for the procedure. Here's hoping everything turns out OK.

Good question.

Is the general consensus from those who follow women’s bball closely that we should rotate coaches every 4 years when they’re getting to Sweet 16s?
