I’ll tell you what it was…Saban and Kirby realize we are a threat to them with Danny and Heupel running this ship, so they probably called their ole buddies and told them we needed even harsher sanctions to cripple us more than we were initially.
We started winning?
This hasn't even hit the point where the NCAA get reamed by lawsuits from players and agents when this interferes with their ability to get income for something they weren't party too. That's where the real repercussions from this will fall out if there are post season bans or something similar.Well, that was part of the “new pradigm” of enforcement that our case was supposed to be the pilot program for. But at some point along the way, that pilot was cancelled and the NCAA decided to air re-runs of their old enforcement methods instead.
Checking in to let everyone know I am fine just needed a break from the board. As many that have been on here as long and even longer than me it can wear on you after a while with all the negas and trolls. Also, my wife had her 5th back surgery in Feb. and sje is doing great after a year of battling workers comp. They denied it so we had to use regular insurance but she is doing great and we both plan on being at the O&W game.

I don't either and don't think they will be an option going forward for the NCAA anymore because of NIL and the potential to impact player's income. I would expect to see more impacts toward scholarship reduction, fines, or reduced recruiting contact periods. The good news is that our "independent-from-the school" NIL gang can still reach out even if the coaches can't.To clarify, I don’t think a post-season ban is on the table.
It was the fact that we didn't stay in the world of suck. With a coach who actually knew how to coach, we pulled ourselves out of the mud and are winning too soon for the NCAA and they don't like that. Plain and simple. They trying to handcuff our success and call it deservable punishment from what Pruitt and his croanies did.Something changed from the ‘AAs point-of-view between the time Heupel was hired and when the NOA was handed down. I wish I knew what it was.
SEC is self serving and they see TN as getting their crap together and being valuable again, so therefore it benefits the SEC.
they wanted to see us grovel and continue to be a dumpster fire for 4-5 more years at the very leastMaybe, but the attitude change appears to have occurred before we had our breakout season last year.
If I had to guess (and this is nothing but a guess), I would say that the Nico deal becoming public might have upset some higher-ups at the NCAA. Or maybe just our approach to NIL in general.
I wouldn’t put it past that corrupt organization to try backdoor some penalties for our NIL dealings through the resolution to the Pruitt case.
Again, though: pure speculation.
Everything hinges on whether the SEC *truly* has our backs. This makes me nervous.
