You might have mink as well. Forgot that one. They're called "water wolves" for a reason and they're mostly nocturnal. If fish are disappearing quickly, something is hunting them. I don't think the heron is your primary culprit.No otters or other mamals that I've seen. It has good flow so I don't think oxygen is an issue. I've seen a turtle or two occasionally. Lots of bull frogs if that helps.
