He is the best WR in the country. . . has the hardware to prove it.Young is playing for his team and Hyatt isn't. Hooker would be playing.
He quit one game short...and no I don't think Squirrel is at his level yet...only a handful of WRs are...he is one of the best WR in CFB.
It bothers me...money and selfishness ruin everything. I do not understand why it doesn't bother more people.
Also...it would be 100% different if he was battling injury or something like Ced. I could understand, but as far as I know there is nothing wrong with him...he just doesn't want to play.
I don't want to say anything else about it. I loved Hyatt, I wanted him to go on and go pro and supported that decision 100%, but not playing this game bothers me.He is one of our own. When he's playing in the NFL, are you going to say he's not a VFL? He is. Tillman is probably healthy enough that he could play, but he's choosing not to so as to avoid reinjuring himself. Is that quitting too? I just don't agree with you. There comes a point where the athlete's future outweighs the potential risk. My guess, if HH was healthy and playing, Hyatt would be playing, too. But Milton is a QB that Hyatt has a lot less familiarity with, and it sets up more of a risk for potential injury because of variables. In Hyatt's place, Squirrel will get to play, and he has a lot more familiarity with Milton, and Milton has more familiarity with Squirrel.
Only trouble with this logic is how long before they start sitting out games their last year because of the same reasons? No sir…changing his family future by making a business decision to sit out a bowl game is not quitting on his team. He gave everything to his team throughout the year on the field, in the community, in the classroom, in meeting rooms etc.
If he blows his knee out and has a Marshawn Lattimore type situation is career beyond Tennessee is ruined. He’s still gonna rep that power T and the university every chance he gets. Plus this gives those that we will be counting on next year the chance to get a great start in the game.
After hearing the talk about Bishop I'm not sure if this is a good pick up or just an average pickup. Wouldn't think with limited spots left that the staff would take someone unless they thought he was worth it. I am referring to the LA Law conversation about when they were working out details and LA said if he comes ok but if he doesn't want hurt.
Out of touch people will not cut them slack. They say getting hit in football is like getting in a car wreck at 30 mph every time it happens. So that’s 20-30 car wrecks each game played. He is not "one of our players" anymore..he quit before the season is over...he did. He didn't "give his all for Tennessee"....he held back something. He gave all for himself...and now he will reap the rewards...good for him,
I hope it doesn't cost us this game, because nobody is going to cut Tennessee and Heupel slack if we lose.
Yeah that's what @Weezer just posted makes more sense now.
I understand disagreeing with the decision and wishing he stuck it out so his team. But I will never agree with him not being a vfl. The man that almost by himself is a vfl no matter what he does in the next levelI don't want to say anything else about it. I loved Hyatt, I wanted him to go on and go pro and supported that decision 100%, but not playing this game bothers me.
Like I said, I could understand if he was battling a nagging injury like Ced, but there is nothing wrong with him.
If we win...then I will agree it never mattered and gladly eat crow, but if we lose a 2 score or less game....I will always wonder if this was a reason.
I agree...I just didn't want to get in an argument about if he was really "the best" or not. If SW goes off for 200 and 3-4...then all this is moot. I don't think he is up to it just yet, and that is not a knock on him...Hyatt wasn't up to it either until this year. He has been uncanny at adjusting speed while running through the secondary. He is the best WR in the country. . . has the hardware to prove it.
Then he shouldn't be a priority for us. I want players that care about us...not money.Out of touch people will not cut them slack. They say getting hit in football is like getting in a car wreck at 30 mph every time it happens. So that’s 20-30 car wrecks each game played.
Let’s say you plan to leave your current employer, in this instance we’ll call the company Dumbass Car Company, but first you have to have 30 car wrecks at 30 mph before you leave or Dumbass fans are mad.
When you leave you are guaranteed enough money to change your wife and children’s future forever. Do you put yourself through that pain with a possible chance of injury? No you don’t because if you get injured while at the Dumbass Car company your contract with your new employer becomes a fraction of what it could have been.
His family is his priority, not us Dumbass fans. All I am saying.
