Its a lot different doing it with a guy like Matthews and a guy like Skenes whos projected to go 1/1. Skeenes has a future youre costing him millions burning his arm up.

Yes, they can. There are no rules restricting pitchers. But it would be coaching malpractice to pitch a guy so quickly and risk his future (unless maybe situational with just a few pitches). It’s why Vitello is a player’s coach. He has not done it at UT.

I asked a question earlier and missed if anyone gave an answer.


If you have a pitcher go for about 7 innings and throws an average amount of pitches for that time, what is the general thought on how long he should rest?

Skenes for example. How long should he be rested for after playing against us?

The other thing is effectiveness, If Skenes does throw he wont be anywhere near as effective as he was Saturday. Your body doesnt recoever that fast.
