the stars are aligningHello all. It’s been awhile and I hope all you morAns are happy and healthy. I checked out the 2025 recruits by state and it’s amazing how much things have changed in 10 years. The state of Tennessee now produces more talent than every state not named Texas, Florida, Georgia, California, and Alabama. Tennessee’s talent quotient is better than Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia for next year. I remember when only a few 4 stars were available in state each year. Not anymore. According to the composite Tennessee is the sixth most talented state for high school football recruiting next year.
These guys know and have been told, there is a 2-3 year window for these kids to maximize the bag. There will be more regulations soon. Definitely after the 24 elections. Will be similar to a salary cap.
Oh, and they also have partnerships with a local community college and Middle Tennessee State University that allows kids to dual enroll and gain high school and college credits at the same time for very minimal cost. There are kids graduating high school and starting college mid-way through their Sophomore years. Big $$ savings for parents.
No, I mean the river that runs through the middle of Townsend, duh.Townsend River?
You mean the middle prong of the Little River?
Which is a big reason I stopped following MLB long ago. 'Rich teams' taking talent from small market teams (my Reds). Of course, this happens in the NBA as well and, well, I still follow my Lakers. Amazing thing is some 'small market' teams still do really well (Tampa Bay Rays). He is a free agent at end of season he gone Angels will not give him the asking price he wants, Dodgers got deep pockets and he loves the West Coast....
Love this. Hate how stressful school has become because of test scores. Both of mine hated high school. The majority that I have talked to do also. I just couldn’t understand it because I loved it so much. My daughter did the dual enrollment starting her sophomore year. She hated high school so much she talked us into letting her go to Chattanooga State for her senior year. I was like but you’ll miss this and this! She said she had been to 3 proms and been an attendant in homecoming and pretty much everything else. So we let her. She loved it!! Finished with a little over two years to transfer to UTC. I really hate the stress being put on kids! I realize it’s because of the stress being put on teachers. It is by choice. They were in a magnet school that placed extraordinarily high expectations on the kids. This is not a problem in and of itself, because we should have high expectations. Especially when people are capable of achieving those expectations. However, they already place so much worry and stress on themselves and then the school piles on too. They were both very unhappy and were not engaging in normal teenage activities because they were just so mentally drained all the time. Our county started a virtual school immediately after the covid times and we had moved our older daughter into it to finish the last 2.5 credits she needed and we had a good experience. The younger ones asked to move to the virtual school after the new year and they finished up their 8th and 9th grade years there in the spring and enjoyed it. It allows a lot of freedom, especially at the high school level. The classes are self paced and as long as you are turning your assignments in on time that is all that matters. So if a kid wanted to take a couple extra days off, they could just work ahead and then chill for a few days. Or they can have a job during the day and do their work in the evening. This model wouldn't work for everyone, but I think that we have to get creative with how we offer educational opportunities to this generation.

I can imagine it. It happens routinely in the NBA, MLB, and used to happen routinely in the NFL until they fixed it by reformatting the playoffs. As a fan…. Could you imagine paying 300 for a big game and all the starters sitting out?
