Who are you replacing them with?

Is Washington a top 8 team? Notre Dame? Oregon or Utah? It's always easy to kick teams down...until you look down the list...

Neither team in my post should be above us.

Think about it this way. We were 3-1 last year against teams ranked above us in this year's preseason poll.

Not talking us, you're dropping 3 teams. So which other 2 move up?

I just don't see Washington, ND, Texas, Oregon as top 8 or higher. Not even top 10

LSU should be. Maybe not 5th...I'd move USC up to 5th. But they'd be top 10, along with Clemson, and FSU. Jmo. Just curious of your top 10 if you're booting 3 teams off every poll's top 10 list.

My daughter is a freshman this year there. I am planning to live vicariously through her for the next 4-5 years.

In real life, if a kid had been adopted that suddenly turned pro for millions...pretty sure that would have turned heads..and eyes. Especially a rich white family doing it. And iirc the movie story was they lived in Memphis of all places.

It would be much harder for players from back then to play now. They wouldn't be the best now days. Hall of Famers would be ok players today, not great ones.

Yea… “Triple A players today would be HOF back then” and actual HOF from then would be like kinda sorta totally ok, maybe.

Outside of top 4, I'd probably have USC at 5 like you said, then us at 6, and LSU at 7. Not sure exactly how I'd rank the other teams.

That was the one part of the movie based on a truth. Bodies used to be stored there. Actually, you'd be surprised at the parts of campus and Knoxville that served as "labs."

Pretty much exactly how I feel...except I think 8-4 is the most likely...simply because too much new/unproven skill and too much thin on offensive line....I also fear the injury bug will hit us hard this year.

So..I could also see 7-5 to 11-1 depending on circumstances.

I hope my gut feeling about injuries is a bean dream nightmare....I hope Doc is right and I am wrong...I really do. I hope we go 15-0 and these concerns look stupid in retrospect.

But...if we end up 7-5 I promise I will not be saying I told you so.

If we did and you did say "I told you so," that would be the kinda thing where a punch to the face would be well earned. I think 7-5 would surprise that many people. It's not impossible but that would def. be a disappointment.
