Actually interested in what Georgia looks like next year. It will be a major reset year for them. All the guys that have been there for their run will be moving on and it's all the new guys that have been recruited in during that period. And Bobo's system. Obviously, they will be fine but something I've been looking at

It took an elite OC in Monkin to be an actual title threat. You think Georgia beats Ohio state with Bobo? Heck no. Their defense will carry them to at least 10 wins but I donā€™t see them sniffing the championship game

I most definitely blame Kiffin. The way he left (because he didnā€™t appreciate what he had) led to Dooley which led to Butch which led to Pruitt and all the nightmares in between those.

We can disagree.

Kiffin's behavior was indefensible, but there was nothing about UT at that point that forced a Dooley or Jones or Pruitt except lack of vision and leadership. I have zero doubt that with a system president like Randy Boyd and an AD like Danny White we would have made a good hire and avoided the disaster. Whether that was by finding a quality lower tier guy like Heupel or recognizing the existential threat we faced and overpaying for a big name to prevent the damage, they would have handled it.

With the leadership we had, yeah, it was over when Kiffin walked.

Many people I know on our team were hanging out over here being BFFs with me and sharing inside information that harms their own interests just to get in with me, because I'm really that important, and because AC was not at home that day.

They told me Mincey said to tell @ACvol3 this:

Then Elarbee asked the entire OL room to vote and they voted unanimously that Mincey had done right.

No, it wasn't. Yeah, him leaving the way he did was bullsh!t of the highest order, no doubt...but, not only did Mike Hamilton hire him, and not only did he give him a contract where he and USC had to pony up only pocket change for his buy-out, Hamilton is also the one who hired Dooley, period

Anyone who says Kiffin BEFORE Mike Hamilton, as it pertains to these last years since, we'll just have to disagree.

As far as Dooley's hiring goes, all Hamilton had to do was not panic, first and foremost, have some balls about you for fk sakes, name an interim for the season, an entire season for him to make a very good list of candidates, hit the ground running the moment the clock struck zero in the last game.

I've always said Hamilton should shoulder the VAST MAJORITY of our fall's weight.

Also, the way Hamilton treated Fulmer, he should have the sh!t kicked out of him.
Not that I donā€™t blame Hamiltonā€¦but hiring him would have been considered a good hire if Kiffin didnā€™t decide that Tennessee was not good enough for him! (Double negative necessary for LK).

I still don't understand why anyone got upset about it. If you're trying to punch the ball out, it's not like he just walked up from behind and hit AR for the hell of it.
Me either. I wouldnā€˜t have had a problem with your scenario either. šŸ˜Ž

I could understand Colts players getting upset about it, but not the Eagles. Iā€™m assuming the story was either incomplete (Coltsā€˜ offensive linemen then started fighting with Barnett) or erroneous (It was Coltsā€™ players that took offense with Barnettā€™s move).

Don't touch the guy in the red jersey under any cirsumstance is basic common sense since pee wee football.

Love some Vol Derek Barnett. But being an idiot between the lines has definitely been a damper on his pro career so far.

Red flags, even then, with Kiffin; Al Davis tried to tell everyone what kind of dude he was...as Gary Patterson waited by the phone. In Patterson's own words, "Tennessee didn't think I could handle the big stage", meaning Mike Hamilton thought that. HE would have been the good hire.

While yeah, it sucked, the way Kiffin left, nine out of ten of us would take our dream job, without hesitation...I would. If i were hired at USC, and a season later the Vols called, im gone, see ya, no questions asked...it being my dream job, it being the place ive always wanted to be, no matter where else I'm at.

Hamilton, as all ADs do, should have been prepared for it; and, that preparation should have NEVER included the likes of Derek Dooley.
