Linebacker is not ok. We saw what our linebackers look like without Banks. And you don’t want to be starting freshmen at MLB.

Yes, LB and DB's are clearly our weakest point and hopefully are the focus in the portal... I personally really think we need at least one top tier WR with experience, even if it's a one and done again...

I mean, I've seen a couple of DBs out there that I really hoped we were after. All year, all I've heard people say is our secondary is bad because of lack of talent. Now, we have a chance to improve on that and we're standing pat? That's frustrating.

Those of us who have been critical of Banks and Martinez this season have constantly been told they just don't have the talent to work with. If they're happy with who they have and don't look to improve, that excuse vanishes IMO.
Count me as one of those frustrated one's! I do hope we get at least one proven corner but I would love two. I think if they can get who they want they want hesitate to pull the trigger but if they can't they may wait to see who else is available after bowl season.

Who said we will be to start a freshmen at MLB though?

These are the guys who can return next season that are or could be on scholarship.

Juwan Mitchell
Kwauze Garland
Aaron Beasley
Kalib Perry
Elijah Herring
Jackson Hannah (was a PWO, but came from Nebraska so could be a factor this year)

I do think we'll try to find an experience ILB though in the portal. But even if we don't there are plenty of returning players that could start.

My dad passed suddenly in August. Missing the sound of his voice has been one of the hardest things I never even considered I would grieve.

Prayers for all dealing with loss.

Sorry to hear that...one of the hardest things that hit me after my dad passed was not having anything with his voice. No old voicemails and for some reason his old VM greeting had been changed so even calling his number it wasn't there. That was hard for me, finally found some old videos where I could hear him again. But it was rough. His last few weeks with us he wasn't himself, cancer is hell and it took everything away from him before he was finally gone.

Not sure why Heup has to keep proving himself. Since he’s got here he’s underwhelmed fans with his decisions yet he’s proven to be right every time.

Are we in communication with Justin Flowe or Clayton Smith? Looks like top tier LB's...

Osita Ekwonu from ND, Teradja Mitchell from Ohio State, Antoine Sampah from LSU, Amari Gainer from FSU are also in the portal and were high rated guys.

Pretty sure AP said we could be in play for Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste as well, he's from UCF. He's got good size and produced while at UCF.

Same here. Dad passed in January this year so coming up on one year anniversary. Last year I asked dad if he wanted to drive around and look at lights. He said he didn't think he could do it. He said to wait for my brother to be in town and he would try. We decided to do it a couple of days after Christmas. I asked him how we were going to get everyone in a car, said we'd have to take several cars. Dad said we could take the motorhome (he and I went together and bought one). That way he could plug his O² machine in. Then he asked if I could decorate it up with Christmas lights, on the outside. I told him I'd make it happen. So I spent the Saturday after Christmas securing lights to the motorhome. He wanted Christmas music to be blasting on the outside as well but I couldn't make that happen. So all 15 of us drove around looking at lights. He had a blast that night. Really a great memory. I have a video but I don't think I can post it.

Assault on a family member - strangulation... at 4am...

Beard has a wife and 3 daughters. What on earth happened that resulted in that.

The absolute best possible scenario here is that he was protected his children from an extended family member. But that seems unlikely...

Which ones have shown they are SEC linebackers other than Banks?

Beasley has flashes but is lost in pass pro.
Garland - always injured
Mitchell- waste of space
Perry - hasn’t played
Herring - barely played, looks like a LB
Hannah- never will play ever

We need help in a big way. The two freshmen linebackers committed are great prospects and Carter would be amazing, but you can’t rely on them in year one.
