Success kills all enjoyment if it's not tempered.

I got like that back in the day...I hope I never do again...8-4 seasons sprinkled in amongst 10-12 win seasons are ok with me. I just never want to have to endure the total garbage football we have played over the last 15 years ever again.

If he had held onto that, it might have been a TD. I think he was in. IIRC, didn't OSU settle for a FG after that?
They did settle for a FG, but I think he had stepped out of bounds, so he couldn't catch it. The back judge threw his hat, so I assume that's why.

I mean the hit was clean. Shoulder to chest/shoulder. No head contact. These things happen when your QB lobs the ball in the Air and expects you to just stand under it for 5 seconds before it gets to you.
Looks like helmet contact to me in the video "Ale"x posted - water under the bridge as they say, but given Smart's post-game comments after we played them, I'd say he'd put the word out.

I get that the extreme is a problem (NFL QBs, for instance), but football isn't as good when players get injured, and making changes to keep them healthy is better for the sport overall. Like most things, balance is good. The hit may have been legal, but the game wasn't improved by it.
It sure as hell was improved if you are a UGA fan...that freak play won the game for them. Losing Harrison on top of their other big weapon losses earlier was the straw that broke OSUs offenses back...they didn't have anybody left physical enough to deal with UGAs grabby physical secondary. It totally shut them down.

Frank Broyles was asked why he was retiring from coaching the Razorbacks at 51 and at the top of his profession... "For me, it got so winning was no longer a joy, just a relief," he said. "and losing was intolerable."
