It’s football, if they play only 1 game they risk injury.I think it makes the regular season worse. Teams (especially in the SEC) also need some cupcakes to rest up. These kids used to only pay 8-9 games. Then 10, Then 11, Then 12, Then 13 and possibly 14. When they go to a playoff of 12-16 teams how many games come off the schedule? Do they only play 9 regular season games? Limit conference games? I'm trying to figure it our without making these young men play too many games and risk injury.
The definition of 50/50 nothing burger comment.AP hinted multiple times that Heup could promote analyst Alec Abeln for TE coach.
Any names for TE Coach?
How would you feel about another promotion?
Likelihood of them promoting from within for TE coach? Would think they would want a proven recruiter?
Abeln a legit possibility in your minds?
I know it’s better now.and you assume it's better now. Your opinion..............that's fine.
Point is..........not everybody is gonna be happy.
You assume it did. Take this year. UGA and Michigan finish undefeated. Play in different bowl games.
Co NC’s like Bama and Penn st.?
Or Maybe Michigan, they had that impressive win over Ohio st. ?
Nah, it was crap, the BCS was crap just a little less than voting, and the 4 team with voters still deciding who’s the 4 is just a little less crap than the BCS.
The numbnuts who had Bama second need to be fired. Also, Mike Beradino has Bama five spots ahead of Tennessee. We finished nine points behind Bama. He, more than any other voter, is responsible for the joke of having Bama in front of us.
I know it’s better now.
Did Bama not beat UGA last year in the SEC?
You’re version of better UGA would never of been voted NC.
They at least got the opportunity to play for it.
Any system that has a committee voting teams in is flawed but the more that can get in lessens the possibility of teams that deserve a shot getting shafted.
Was basically saying the same to my wife and son last night. Would be so Tennessee for this to happen. Bama being our annual cross rival, and now UG!!
Bernadino or whomever, that’s gotta be personal. He put Washington, who lost to 3-9 ASU, ahead of us???The numbnuts who had Bama second need to be fired. Also, Mike Beradino has Bama five spots ahead of Tennessee. We finished nine points behind Bama. He, more than any other voter, is responsible for the joke of having Bama in front of us.
Fortunately once they reshape the sec, I don’t think we’ll play uga every year. It’s been a while since anyone has talked about it (or I’ve paid attention to it) but I thought the most speculated three for us was gonna be Alabama, Vandy and Kensucky.
Heup is the man. What he’s done with our talent, and what he’s done for our talent, putting them in position to go pro, is so good for our program. We’re here to stay.I’m not saying Kirby is trash. But I am saying he’s never had a season like Heupel had, where he took over such a dumpster fire situation and through scheme and coaching, took an inferior roster and developed them and put them in situations to succeed as effectively as he has.
dude I really thought that he said all of this and I was getting more and more excitedHe said Saban had no quality wins and two of the wins he did have were basically on the final play, which shouldn't count according to lil Nickie. Saban had no reason to be ranked above Tennessee and no reason to be in the broadcast booth begging up an unearned recruiting advantage. And if Saban has a gripe -- since he runs the Birmingham office -- tell his errand boy Sankey to make AL-GA an annual game when the expansion schedule comes into effect. Or shut up. Also, why is Saban buying hugely expensive insurance policies for players (which amounts to a direct cash payment) and bragging about it to the world not a recruiting violation?
He is being a babyfied jackass...he has done this crap over and over again. He puts stupid crap out there and then gets his wittle bitty feewins hurt when most everybody goes off on him for it.He’s a good dude. He likes to stir things up. Probably good to take a break. He won’t miss this place.
Have to go with the 12 team over the 4 although I like both the 8 and 16 team playoffs better with no byes.
Again, since it started over 9 seasons. Bama (3), UGA (2), LSU (1), Clemson (2), OSU (1). Seems pretty clear to me that having only 4 potentially eliminates the hot team that started the season slowly. It reduces the potential match ups that are challenging, which is how March Madness produces the big upsets. Way too easy to seed 4 teams versus 12. It favors the lesser P5 conferences who get teams in like TCU, and almost USC, to only get blown out. With more teams in the playoffs most of those games are played earlier. Ours, Clemson's and Bama's situations this season are proof a larger playoff would have been better for the competition aspect.
Yeah, the SEC could end up with the Final Four or three out of four. Which is the reason they have been slow to change it. They want to pretend having teams with similar records from multiple conferences means they are equally yoked, when we in the SEC know they are not. Get over it and prove it, the others should work harder to get better.
