Man... how as a QB are you so dumb that you pick not one BUT TWO of the absolute worst QBs in recent years to say you look up to?

Just default to Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes... no one will ever question picking SB winning QBs that haven't had off the field issues.
Well he didn't mention anything about how they're role models. He only mentioned that he models his game after them. Probably should have avoided mentioning those two but it's also not a big deal. No team is gonna care.

Saban knows if he whines publicly about something he doesn't like, things are usually changed to his advantage... and another team's disadvantage. Example: his PO'd 200-lb player socks a celebrating 115-lb female UT fan, Saban whines in a presser that his players were "scared" and UT gets penalized for players storming the field while the Bama player skates.

Saban will continue to work it as long as Sankey plays along, which he generally does. It'll be interesting to see if Bama loses LSU as a permanent rival and picks up an opponent like Miss St instead.

ESPN blowing up every player they can, but not really ANY mention of one of the best overall combine performances ever by a DL by Byron Young. We are hated.

Seriously, I know most think it's a joke, but when you really look at things, it really does seem like most sports media does not like us to do well and doesn't want to post about it... You look at Instagram and SEC and Saturday Down South --- they post about SEC teams and hardly put us in at all... Baseball, we are 3rd in the country, but all they post about is Ole Miss, Vandy, Miss St, etc--- SDS even throws a random shot at us in baseball showing how much larger Miss St baseball stadium is compared to ours... for no specific reason... Just to F with us... and then when some UT fans mention about how we handed them their worst loss last season, SDS all of a sudden says we are being defensive... then why'd you post something random like that?

Even without the off the field issues from those two...

Vick is 61-51-1 as a starter, a career sub 60% passer that had 3k yards passing in just 2 seasons of his career and only 20 TDs passing just twice. His game is nearly the exact opposite of what CJ's is. I mean maybe he did look up to Vick growing up just seems like an odd choice being a California kid to pick Vick whose last meaningful season as a starter was in 2012 (when CJ was just 11/12.

Watson makes sense, he had 3 good years with Houston while CJ was in HS.

Seems like CJ picked 2 QBs that are black and around his size, just not smart choices though especially when you take into account their off the field crimes.

Michael Vick changed football. That's why he chose him.

I know heupel is too nice of a guy, but he really needs to come out and make a statement about our schedule the past few years. Always drawing the toughest West team and playing Bama and UGA every year. Basically tell Saban to quit bitching.

Doesn’t everyone get penalized for storming the field? Isn’t that conference rule?

The advantage we have is some of the better teams aren't going to want to have to deal with us as a yearly opponent.

Saban don't and Kirby won't and I'd say Kelly at LSU isn't interested in it either.

Bama is a big time rival so Saban will really have to work magic to get us removed.

Kirby will be able to push for Auburn, Florida...He can then make a case for Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina (all teams they've played 20 or more times than Tennessee).

For us it seems the most logical choices are Bama, Vandy, Kentucky as we've played all 3 100 times at least. Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia would be the next potential choices since we've faced them all 50 or more times.

Vandy is likely the "bell of the ball" but only 5 teams have played them 75 or more times.

TN, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Bama, and Georgia. It would be a pretty Vandy thing though to see them stuck with TN, Georgia and Bama LOL

I think the SEC has a new golden child - UGA.

Let's see how the politics of this realignment plays out. Saban may just be proactively bitching about something that he doesn't know is certain, or hasn't even been communicated yet, just to box out the possibility. That's next level bitching.

Just because the SEC hates us, watch us get bama, uga, and vandy as our permanent opponents. They're showing that they're willing to do anything to keep us down. We are feared.
That would be stupid if they did.. wouldn’t they want the strongest teams to emerge at the end? But nobody ever accused Birmingham of having a braintrust in the offices there.. but the silver lining would be Bama and Georgia actually having to play one another in the season 😂 the butthurt from one of the teams will be epic

Yes. And UT paid the fine without complaint and put together a prevention plan as well. But the SEC kept quiet on the Bama player belting a girl who was trying to get out of his way. Two issues-- only one addressed.

Does DW know who Tennessee three permanents are. I assume if Saban got wind of who Bama gets then maybe others have received what there’s are

I mean if CJ was actually a running QB then maybe it'd make sense... but he's got less rushing yards for his career at Ohio State than Kirk Herbstreit.
It says QBs who he looks up too. Not model his game after. You don’t have to be a running QB to look up to a running QB
