Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

Our new Head Basketball coach.

I was kind of hoping to get White over him, just because it seems like he is a better recruiter, but he would have bounced to Ole Miss in two years.
Hope to hell ole Don can recruit

Seems some folks are talking him up as a CBJ of basketball in terms of energy and ability to connect with fans and recruits. If so, recruiting should be fine. We will see.

Will be nice to have a guy get involved with the fan base like CBJ, hopefully recruits will flock like the salmon of Capistrano.

Someone hit me with the official word from VQ. Please and thank you

We are well aware of what's out there and I think that's the direction things are going. I'm not ready to call it done because I don't think there is any kind of agreement signed yet.

I think there's a chance it can happen in the next little bit and I don't think the national guys are wrong in what they are saying. In talking to some people right now and over the last few minutes, nothing has been inked just yet.

Boom!! Hell of a great night to be a Vol!

Tyndall was my realistic first choice from the start!

One hell of an upgrade over "half season"

Hats off to Dave Hart who didn't allow an unproven coach with nice projectabilty to back him into a corner he couldn't get out of.(remember how many of you agree kids should lose their scholarships after one year?? Hart owed it to this university to insure that out clause was there for such an unproven coach)

Thankfully we ended up with a much more proven coach that has succeeded at multiple stops.

GBO!!!!!

Now back to my much more peaceful cave!

Loving the new Bruin!

Don't know if it's been mentioned but it was Tyndall's morehead state team that knocked off Pitino and Louisville in the first round in 2011

Don't be a stranger, Bruin. Hope to see you back here when football heats up.

Recruiting is vital in basketball. We'll know soon if he has the stones to recruit in the SEC.

I'm excited about the hire. He was on my very short list of candidates that 'made sense'. Overpaying for Smart or Marshall truly didn't make sense financially. My investment advisor always tells me to buy low and sell high. The same logics applies here.

I think Tyndall will do a great job for us.

Cave my arse! Been here the whole time. I bet it feels like those Klondike commercials about to explode then you get to post and all that pressure just released.

Like I posted before I will support this guy like a good Vol fan should. He has potential. But to be exuberant in praise for Hart and the hire is very much over the top at this stage. We could be revisiting this in a few years while Hart is beginning to collect his Social Security. Hope not - ready for this crappy coaching BS to stop being the central topic of discussion.

Back to football and recruiting in particular.
