Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

Have a friend that got to talk to butch for 15 minutes. Said he can tell why the recruits love him. Great guy who is witty and passionate.

JONES: Pig Howard, I just got off the phone with him. We have set some parameters that he has to meet, they are from our players …

JONES: He will go before the 13-person player staff & they will meet with him and make a decision. It’s an honor & privilege to play at UT.

Robert Jordan's The Wheel Of Time series is phenomenal. There are many aspects similar to GOT as far as politics between nations. It's called the Game of Houses in his epic. So for lack of another way to describe it, because it's so different....it's like GOT plus everything that was badass about the LOTR plus everything that was badass about the force in Star Wars. Combine all that into one perfectly woven story and excellent character progression, and you have one of the best sci-fi/fantasy series ever written.

This. Jordan's WOT was the first series I read of the genre. One helluva series to pick. I've read through probably 12-13 times and it never gets old. Robert Jordan was the man. It's a shame he died before HE could finish the saga.

Wonder what he did

Maybe I'm in the minority but I read the first book of Wheel of Time and didn't really care for it much. Got bored with it.

And I love the genre. Haven't gotten up the courage to spend the time it would take to read the second one in the series and try to get into it again.

Pig shall meet with the Vols of the Orange Table and request he be knighted

I love that. Sorry if everyone knew that but me, but I love how CBJ is handling this. Just awesome.

Pretty strong aftershocks still continuing. I'm not sure how many we've had since I went to bed, but I've been awake for 15 minutes and there have been 4-5.

Been a few slow days in Vol news, huh?

There's going to be a big one before long. I don't know where but mark my words, it's coming.

You and your family stay safe Nick I'm sure all of VN will be praying for you. I've never liked the "so-called" natural disasters, they're no fun at all.

Off topic:

Any of you Nashville guys been to Etch to eat? I'm going there next week, I think. Wondering how it is, because I've read great things.

Edit: Can this be moved to the "off topic" thread? My apologies.

I'm with you. Read half the series, didn't care for it. Much prefer GRRM.

Never heard of it but let me guess...it's either in East Nashville or the Gulch?
