Stumbled upon an old article about recruiting class misses, which class was a bigger shock for you guys: the 2007 recruiting class or the 2009?


Both were before my recruiting obsession, but I didn't realize the 2007 class had 5 5-star players.

Saw Marcell Dareus got arrested. I feel like a lot of Saban's Bama kids have had run-ins with the law in the NFL, but not in college. Off the top of my head Rolando McClain is the only one I can think of though. Two questions:

1. Are there others or am I imagining this?

2. If I'm not imagining it, how does Saban manage this?

Yeah, POA, I'd prob have any of the QB's we are in on in that 3rd slot. I do have a favorite, but I'm not a hater of the other options at QB.

I didn't follow it closely back then either but I guess this goes to show why you need to have several highly ranked classes in a row to be consistently good and make up for the busts.

I still am amazed that Carr is one of the first busts in the 2013 class. In a class with few stars he was one of the few safe bets, I thought.
