Cordarrelle in a nfl.com commercial with some other big time players. Seems like the nation is slowly catching on to how special he is going to be.

Willie in an interview tonight said Evan is taking his reps at safety these first few days.

Also, at the start of the interview, he said they try to keep young guys at one position for fall camp... Then later in the interview mentioned Evan taking safety reps with the possibility of playing corner, as well.

Either he misspoke re: the safety reps, or he thinks Evan is special enough to take on both as a young guy.

I'm pretty confident in saying that because we were two over turned calls away from 7 wins last year, and we played a harder schedule then with a much worse roster.

One of the things I like in these practice reports is the comments about how our athleticism is helping players overcome mistakes. Martinez said that about some DBs today and all the beat writers talked about how the wideouts were still catching some of those poorly thrown balls. That's the difference to me this year versus last year.

6 wins with a hope of 7 is where I am too. There is no doubt we have more athletes. If we can get Worley to start getting balls to our wide receivers in stride, that alone will do wonders. Last year it felt like everything was under thrown or behind guys. Just get it to them, and let them do the rest.

Are you gonna play Barnett at tackle and Hendrix at end?

"Hendrix and Barnett are both ends."

Is there any concern that they are too large and may have to move inside?

"It's all based on athleticism. They can be large and athletic and still play end."

Stripling on DeWayne and Derek.

They are athletic enough for their size to be a luxury, not a hindrance. Total package rather than position movers. Barnett is an incredibly good athlete on film.

Unfortunately I agree. No reason a 4th year QB should be struggling against air the first few days of camp. I think with Worley, it is what it is. I don't really expect much improvement from him this year.


Not being a Debbie downer just being honest. The rest of the team except for the OL, will be much improved.

It's not great, but last year was doubly terrible because we didn't have experience at WR either. The WR's will be much better, and it really helps that Malone and Pierson were here in the spring. Our passing game will be better. Just still won't be great. I think it gets us to 6-7 wins. JMO.

While that's true to an extent, a QB either has it or he doesn't. If he's throwing the ball behind receivers, into the ground, into the arms of the defense, like last year, it may be a rough year.

With all due respect, I think I'm not too far off with most estimations. As others have said, improved WR play and a 2nd year in the system can do wonders for a QB, without the QB actually improving at all.

Granted, my TD estimate is probably a bit high. You can chalk that up to my confidence in our WR's.

Every QB misses with passes. Once and a while a pass is behind a WR. Once and a while he short arms a throw. The defense will get their hands on the ball at times. Better players at the skill positions IMO has a lot of those bad plays last year go UTs way in 2014. 6 wins. That's all I need to see. A bowl game this year and we good IMO.

Not with an all new OL. Bad OL play will offset the WR bump, with better RB and TE play being the net increase, but much smaller increase than you are projecting. I expect completion % to go down or stay the same with the decrease in protection. Our QBs rarely ran for their life last year and still had awful %. JMO.


I like your numbers much better though.

Can a freshmen come in and shine or will Dobbs be ready next year?

Sounds like Crompton's SR year. Hopefully the results are similar except I'd prefer a bowl win this time.
