Yea a student . So revoke his game privileges but his scholarship?

Not sure it was the school's decision. He was on some special scholarship for former golf caddies, at least that's what I read.

Here it is:

"Defense attorney Mark Collins says officials Tuesday started removing 21-year-old Anthony Wunder from the Evans Scholars program, which covers tuition and housing for former golf caddies.

The sponsoring Western Golf Association, however, released a statement later in the day saying Wunder's Evans Scholars activities have been suspended but he remains on scholarship pending the outcome of its internal investigation."

Just to revisit an old hot topic discussion, regarding criticism of players.

I would never condone a personal attack on a player, or their worth as a human being, and that line rarely gets crossed around here. But I have no issue with discussing strengths and weaknesses.

It's funny to see people come out and say, "Where are the haters!!??" when someone has a good game, or a good season.

The fact is this, last year, several of us were noting areas where AJ Johnson could improve, "shedding blockers, speed, meeting the ball carrier in the backfield, aggression", and I believe those points were all valid. It is also clear that he has greatly improved in all of those areas this season. Now, folks wanna jump all over the people who pointed that out in the first place and call them out. LOL, if he had done that in the beginning, there would be no discussion. Of course our mouths are shut. He's doing exactly what he is supposed to do as a senior LB. Great job AJ!

The same goes for Smith with his drops last year. Now he is catching the ball, I'm the first to congratulate.

As for Croom, I think he'd be the first to tell you the OK game was not his finest hour. He stepped up against UGA and made the plays when given those opportunities.

Anyways, just on my mind, so there it is.

Agreed. I try to keep my comments to the people I'm watching with. I didn't hear until today when somebody mentioned Croom has been wearing a cast and got it off after the OK game and they hadn't said much about it on injury reports. I'll be even more quiet now about performance because some injuries may not be publicized. He said he couldn't bend his wrist with it on and it affected catching the ball. He should keep showing improvement like the uga game if he stays healthy.

Well I thought you were referring to me with the "where are the haters now?" Comment cause that's exactly what I said after the GA game. It was directed to the ones that were truly haters.

I don't always passive aggressively target inVOLuntary in my posts, but when I do. I tell him straight up how it is.

Butch and Jake repping in Texas for Dormady's game a couple weeks ago.

I swear Bajakian could walk into any econ or history classroom on campus and start lecturing and 99% of the class would think he was an academic guest speaker.

I actually read on Down The Drive, Cincy's SBN blog, that they nicknamed him "the Professor".

Valid points but I must add that Smith played through 2 serious injuries that would have sidelined most players. He knew we needed him and gutted it out. Not sure he really belongs on the list for that reason. When some of the less forgiving posters on here want to get on a player they may want to consider the fact that they do not know all of the things these players are going through day to day.

Since we are in this type discussion - several of us watching the UT/USU game predicted that Chuckie Keeton would not make it to mid-season before his repaired knee would go out the way he was favoring it and limping. It happened in the second quarter against Wake Forest a couple of weeks later. Done for the season and hurting his chances of making the NFL unless he can get a medical RS, which he may be eligible to receive since he had not RS'd.

If you are a head coach and know that a player has not fully healed, don't play the guy until he is. It's somebody's life and potential career you are messing with. I admire Butch and staff for taking the high road on this. If an injury is minor and the guy can play through it (Croom) that's one thing. Totally something else when it is what Smith and Pearson are dealing with now. Although Jake should also focus on not calling the guy's number when a crucial play is needed. He needs to remember to go to the healthy playmakers.

Wow, didn't know this. That's too bad.

Like the previous poster said, it was clear that he was not 100% against us. I'm glad to see that our defense was not just due to that fact though. They have proven their strength in spite of youth.

Mike Shanahan torched RG3s career trying to save his job. And Hoke left that kid in last week. Just a couple more examples off the top of my head.

I'm constantly baffled by the lack of judgment some coaches show.

Unrelated, that USU coach looked like he was sniffing a fart all game. I think it's just his face though.

Edit - I don't want to see Gilliam again for this exact reason. I doubt he has time to strengthen his knee enough to counteract the instability of a torn ACL. Seems like he'd be risking further damage.

Gilliam probably won't ever play football again if he doesn't play now, so it would be kind of mean to make him sit the last 5 or so games of his football career if he's anywhere close to being able to play.

Mean is 30 years in the future, calling up Old Man Gilliam on a cloudy day and asking him if his knee area is inflamed...a harbinger of thunderstorms. :ermm: All for 5 games.

What's the deal with this? Has this article been discussed?

https://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1687482

The school mentioned the most by Michigan commitments when it comes to other schools to look at is not Ohio State. It's the Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols have taken Georgia's place as the hottest team in recruiting and Michigan commitments (well former commit) Roseboro, defensive back Garrett Taylor and tight end Chris Clark are all showing renewed interest in Knoxville now that the Wolverines are faltering. I still think Roseboro is leaning towards N.C. State, especially after his official visit this past weekend, but the Vols will push hard. Based on their commitment from defensive tackle Shy Tuttle, they will be a thorn in the side of any school recruiting the state of North Carolina.
