Hmm why would you think it eliminates Gruden? Not that I think we get him just I'm unsure why them asking for funds from the boosters eliminates him? Unless you're referring to the other part of his post about the smokescreen thing

Basically, the other boosters are ginving the haslams what they want with the academic side, but the haslams still want to screw up the football hire? And now if whichever side doesnt get their way then someone is going to pull their money?

I would like to judge the performance of the decision-makers once there is something to judge. At this point, we have very little clue about what is going into this process and decision (on letting Butch go and when to let him go). Now, y'all are latching onto a comment made by a guy who doesn't even cover UF sports and melting down over it. You really think he (Price) would be the one to break that news?

It is likely that no one will care about how or when we let go of Butch as long as we make the right hire.

I just picked your post out of all the pro Mullen posts to respond to. I get you are not a worshipper, but some are. If we hire him, he gets zero latitude from me day one. I wouldn't hate the hire, but would not be all in either.

I’m ready write us off getting our teeth kicked in by him every year.

That's actually a good point. I don't remember them being quite as good as Gerogia is this year, but still definitely worth considering.

Doing it woth a freshman qb is what's especially impressive. Curious if they'll be ok without those 2 NFL senior RBs though. Amd we'll see how they are when they lose a bunch on defense too.

Still have to give some credit.

I am just believing more every day that the longer Butch is retained the bigger the dumpster fire will become.

Yep. And I honestly think he keeps it going there. Why I think we need a big time hire, and why it's killing me to see all the rot within our own program.

Yes it’s a combination of things. But why should Tennessee be scared of anybody an opposing school hires? We shouldn’t because as long as we can get our hire right then we ain’t got anything to worry about

No what makes them good is the fact that they’re 6-2. They’re not world beaters but they’re a well coached football team on defense. Kurt Roper holds the offense back a bit but they’re winning ball games. Wish we could say the same thing about our team. Maybe next year...
