Comical at this point. Then when it is 3rd and 1, I bet we run to the right side. I will go on record and say that we will probably not score double-digits in Neyland on homecoming against Southern Mississippi. That would be worse than any game coached by Derek Dooley.

Our next head coach.

I think it looks good.

They lost to a team last week that didn't have a football team the last 2 years. Simmer on that.

Doesn’t matter. Massachusetts is 2-6 And almost beat us in Neyland with a lot more players then we will have tomorrow night.

eh it's not a sustainable plan though. there will be a breaking point. that time appears to be now. and if the right moves aren't made then it could be damning for a long period of time. see Colorado, Nebraska etc. See Miami who is trying to climb out of that hole.

I think the big TV money has changed things tremendously. I think it has made winning less important to the bottom line. I agree it's not sustainable but I'm not sure if they hire Bobo or satterfield or some other mc Google that tennessee fans wouldn't still fill neyland.

John Currie has 2 huge jobs.

1) hire a football coach that will get us where we belong.

2) raise money for facilities

Why on earth is it so hard to understand one of those is done in private and one is done in public?

You guys acting like LA post means anything aren't being rational

I'll be honest, I swam right up to this one and nearly took a bite.

Glad you agree. It really isn't hard to see how an AD should conduct business

Like I keep saying.. Currie is batting 1000 so far at UT.

-brought back Lady Vols
-Handled baseball search wonderfully and got a great candidate.
-jump starting further renovations to Neyland.

Stop assuming he’s fumbling the butch/coach situation just bc we’re all in the dark.

I'll reserve judgment until we see what happens in the coming weeks. We end up with another experiment, I'll know we're still the same fudged up administration just another clown at the the top. Also, with them seemingly intent on keeping Butch until the end of the year despite all that is happening around the program, I'm leaning toward incompetence. But, I'm taking a wait and see attitude.

Agreed. It's like we are watching a pitcher warm up before an inning and criticizing him for not throwing strikes. The damn inning hasn't started yet

Didn't you say you worked in the AD?

Good post. I've said for a long time from a business model it is a successful one. Not much room for increased revenue so why pay for a top tier coach. Not worth the risk. I sense it's different this time though. I'm not sure fans are going to keep throwing money at it. May find something else to do on Saturdays.

This is what the Cubs' owners did for about a hundred years. They knew that they could get fannies in the seat, they had a great contract with WGN and, later, Fox and ESPN, and so were not motivated at all to field even a winning team, much less a championship team. Finally, the Ricketts family bought the Cubs and brought in Theo Epstein. This is exactly what Tennessee needs. We need the old guard that is not willing to spend the money to step aside and bring in our version of Theo Epstein to run our AD.
