The relationship between Fulmer and Currie is strained. Fulmer's position was specifically structured so that he acts as an advisor to all athletic programs but reports directly to DiPietro, bypassing Currie and Davenport. His authority is broad and he has a lot of latitude.

Austin Price on TOS said in his opinion there is "nothing" that will happen unless Haslam approves it.

I'm going to go cry for a while.

There is literally nothing that happens in the athletic department without Haslam knowing about it. Price really going out on a limb.

Chance Butch is back next year?

I put it at low. I don't think this team is going to win out and I don't think they are a lock to get to 6-6. As I have continued to say, these things are fluid. I mean I had it from some people I trust that Jones was going to be out Sunday if he had lost to Kentucky. Either those people were wrong or things changed.

We will see. I didn't take anything from Currie's comments to mean that Jones was in some favorable shape to return in 2018.

Yeah probably why we suck. Guys an idiot with the Browns. Tonight I read that Kyle Shanahan told them his top QBs in the one class were derek carr then Jimmy G and then it's everyone else. They took manziel and he got the heck out the next yr. So that's Carr/Garrap/Wentz and Watson this asshat has passed on

San Fran fans are going to realize over the next few years that Bill B makes QBs look good not the other way around.

Schefter saying SF now has a QB of the future lol

Sometimes they’re actually good on other teams. Think this is another example.

Wrong Haslam. Talking about Big Jim and not son Jimmy who owns the Browns. Still, part of the reason we suck.

And this ladies and gentlemen, is why TN will and has been for the last decade, a bottom feeder. Unless things drastically change, we will have to swallow and accept doing this every 4-5 years.

I just don't see us being with the Bamas, OSU, and Clemsons of the world. That's not what the powers at be cares about. And until fans just stop showing up nothing will change.

Hubbs is scared to come out and say anything one way or another. It’s kind of getting annoying. It’s always well I think this could happen but who knows things are “fluid” so this has just as much chance of happening.

I don't mind it because he doesn't want to bite the hand that feeds

That Hubbs quote is what makes me wonder what happened on Sunday. It does seem to back up that a lot of the media thought it was going to happen on Sunday but something changed and changed quickly after Butch and Currie met.

Thought this was interesting...

Curries doesn't need a sign off from the BOT. He just has to inform people of what he's doing. Remember there were BOT members that weren't aware Currie was hired when the news broke.

The big decisions go through him. He's not that involved with the everyday stuff.

This would be defined as big.

It's how he keeps the subscriptions up haha. If he's consistently wrong people don't pay. If it's fluid people pay to see when it becomes a solid.

Here is the way I see it. The meeting and any meeting they have had regarding Butch's departure has ended with Butch not wanting to resign. Currie is playing this week by week. If the losses continue to mount up maybe Butch caves in to save face and his attractiveness to other jobs. All while Currie and the administration work behind the scenes on the new coach. If Butch continues to lose and refuses to resign he will be fired accordingly. Just a chess match to see if Jones will give it up and save UT some money. Either way he is gone.
