One thing that I have been learning the past several weeks is how quickly myself, and many on here, have jumped to support the coach and criticize the player or the media member or fan who called him out. Fact is, Butch has been the problem. We were wrong about Hurd, we were wrong about Haney, and who knows what else we have been wrong about.

I imagine we're going to hear a lot more if and when Butch is finally fired. You don't just have 30 something 4 and 5 star transfers without there being a problem over there. He needs to go.

On the flip side, when something gets toxic, people start to pile on. Little things get blown up because people want him gone. Will never understand a player refusing to go back into a game regardless of what is going on off the field. You have other brothers who rely on you. Hurd was a primadonna and Butch couldn't handle him. I give Butch credit for not airing it in public like Saban did with one of his.

Dreaming a bit.

The opportunity to do something unique and special with Gruden at UT is fascinating. If the boosters, admin and Jon all see the same vision and Jon wants to go back to work full time at his career love, it could happen. It appears the whole thing is and has been in his court. Understandable if he doesn't in his 50's and set for life. However, if he does he could assemble an elite staff to recruit an elite roster to use elite facilities before an elite fan base with elite money behind it all to enhance an elite tradition on the hill.

Did I say "elite"?

This is a screen grab from a Periscope he did. I put ZERO stock into anything he says. He's a clown...

Yeah, I'm skewed because I've been out on Butch for a while, but it's easy to put our heads in the sand as long as the wins are coming. (Or we think they're coming.) The signs were there on Butch from his Cincinnati days. Hopefully we all do a better job of listening to the fanbase of whichever coach we hire and not just assume any negativity is sour grapes from jilted fans.

Yeah, some things are true, even if we do not want them to be.

True in regards to people piling on. But, if Hurd really did have a concussion as his step father says, then he shouldn't have been in the game to begin with. And if he was made to go in with a concussion, then I don't blame him at all for quitting. It's his life on the line at that point.

Nothing Vol Colonel says will change my opinion that Hurd was to tall for a RB and doesn't run well out of the shotgun.

The only thing that concerns me about Gruden is that during his time in the NFL it was widely claimed he ran some of the most complicated schemes. With the practice limits in the NCAA, the question is if he can simplify it to be effective for players at a lower skill level.

IDK, he's a regular on Basilio and supposedly gives a lot of money to the program and has some inside sources. If he was just some clown I wouldn't think Basilio would have him writing on his blog every week.

I guess I haven't seen what he said, but the USCe game was at least 3 weeks after the UGA game. Are they saying he got a concussion in the USCe game too? His first concussion was most likely the result of his non chalant play.

I've given Butch the benefit of the doubt several times. I knew down deep it was never going to work after last season. I know he was trying every way possible to get out last year and would have left if anything would have become available. When you want out that badly, no way your heart is in it.

I'm not sure. But regardless of whether the concussion was due to that stupid play, if he was really made to go back in when they knew it was a concussion, that is horrible and a fireable offense, and not Hurd's fault. And then Butch said he had a lower body extremity injury and that's why he missed A&M, which, if it was a lie like the Hurd family claims, then Butch is covering for himself there. And if they made him go in against GA knowing he had a concussion, then I don't blame him for not wanting to play for Butch anymore I don't care if he was healed up or not.

Fact is, we do not know what is true or not, but with the Kendrick situation, and all that is coming out now, who knows what happened. My only point is that we can't just blindly take Butch's word for it or his side because we didn't like that Hurd left the team. It is very possible that there is a lot more to it.

This is Basilio you're talking about. He's almost as bad as Kress

He was only in 1 play after his being stupid

This is what I'm talking about. We don't like what they have to say, so they must be fake news, clowns, and whatever else that was said about Haney, Hurd, and anyone else who had anything negative to say about Butch and the program for the past 4 years. Same thing happened to Sallee at the beginning of this season. He was right tho, wasn't he?

Fact is, Kress was right. Butch is a terrible coach who is ruining the program. I didn't like it either, but now I see that he was right and we were wrong.

Folks debating if indeed Gruden would be able to handle the pressure and coach in the SEC-- the difference is, I believe he would not be afraid to surround himself with very talented coaches/staff and actually let them do their jobs...

unlike some other self-absorbed clown...
