Hey Ron - can you ask Hubbs a question on TOS?
I'm under the impression the NCAA would require that Gruden resign from MNF/ESPN shows before he could be offficially named a head coach anywhere in the NCAA. I was wondering if Hubbs might speak to that. I think I remember reading or hearing at one time it could be considered an impermissable recruiting advantage. I don't remember where I got that information and I don't know if it is accurate. I'd tried to research it but I haven't found anything definitive.
Meyer's initial contract had an effective start date of November 28, 2011 but clearly there was already an agreement. The contract wasn't signed until June 2012 so up until that point I figure they would have been operating under an MOU. (Btw, every major contract on the projects I've been a part of have begun using an MOU and a LNTP (limited notice to proceed) as a convenience to getting the project moving while we work out the remaining details).
If as speculated now, UT has an MOU in place with JG, either or even both parties may have interest in "keeping it quite" until such time as it is more convenient to establish an effective contractual start date.
So obviously, if my thinking is correct, ESPN will report on it first - as I think the Beaver posted in one of his now deleted posts. I'm pretty sure if ESPN reports that JG is stepping down from MNF/ESPN to pursure other opportunities this site will crash and unfortunately it may take weeks to get it back to a sustained online status. Freak will need mice on steroids to keep those servers running.
