It’s easy to pile on butch and take the “everything comes back to him bc he’s the head coach” approach but these are P5 atheletes. They shouldn’t need to be babysat. It’s a whole culture thing that started with Dooley. The year we went up to Milligan for camp...all accountability went out the window.

I think it starts with the head coach though. He doesn't demand respect out of his players like he should IMO. Players at this level won't respect a weak leader.

Interesting. Thanks hank!

Tired of this world right now. Dang it

Brother, do not...do not...let the Devil steal your spirit.

There is an active debate at our church regarding the qualified concealed carry by LEO's, LEOSA vets, and select CCW holders. The church has a security team (unarmed), and very solid procedures in place for protecting the kids, etc. There is an elementary school next door, and they have an MOU with our church, which has full-time daycare, about lockdown procedures, sheltering, and so forth.

The security director, who I am friends with, disagrees with me regarding armed security. What I have tried to explain to him, numerous times, is that I (or any other qualified toter who is there) would not move or intervene in any scenario that might play out unless (a) someone is injuring members of the church, or (b) a child is in danger of being harmed or abducted, in which case our job is simply to close the distance to can't-miss range, and eliminate the threat.

The Pastor sides with me, but I am...no, make that was, reluctant to carry at church out of respect for my friend.

I think I just changed my mind. The flock is more important than one sheep.

Hang in there. If all the Good Guys give up, then what?

I know I ain't giving up but it still sucks. Armed security is something I am all for in churches now. Sad I have to say that

Yeah, what...two years in a row now?

I know some issues cannot be fixed overnight, or even in one season, but it does make me wonder if our rock star S&C coach is as good as some thought.

Just wondering out loud.

It is now known that Butch pulled the reins in on Rock and hasn't let him run the program the way he came in to do... put restrictions on him because players were complaining is was too hard... Rock said "apparently the players know more than I do about this"... said he came because of the past respect he had for Butch, but was now very disappointed in him for not letting him come in and do his job. This is not on Rock.

What if these WR's were properly developed /coached/motivated-- Malone, Croom, PWilly, JJ, North.... dang. Woulda Coulda Shoulda... that's a lot of talent wasted.

It is not known, but it is rumored. Whatever the situation, the new coach will fix it, I am sure.

Thanks for the info. Good Lord, it's like finding out your dear old uncle has been molesting the neighbor's cat for the last few years.....

:eek:lol:

Hubbs says he hasn’t heard Butch will be gone after tomorrow.

I know Hank didn’t say it was guaranteed, just that it was being rumored around the office. I just wanted to add that in so people don’t go twisting his words. Lol

I have posted a number of time I have a family member that is an NCAA compliance director for a state school. He says 100% the job must be posted before anything official can be signed that has any kind of binding agreement.

Advertising the position has ZERO to do with NCAA compliance. This is utterly 100% false. I am married to a director of HR for a state of TN university. The head football coaching position does NOT need to be posted. Can you please shut up now?

I'm all for Butch getting the rest of the season at this point. Announce Gruden during the 1st quarter of the SECCG and force ESPN to cover it during halftime, lol.
