I'm all for Butch getting the rest of the season at this point. Announce Gruden during the 1st quarter of the SECCG and force ESPN to cover it during halftime, lol.

I'd have no problem with this if I were as confident as everyone else that we had Gruden in the bag.

With Week 10’s win over Southern Miss, Butch Jones’ job security is technically alive, albeit on life support. The message inside the program is that UT needs to win out and keep its recruiting class intact through December’s early signing period.

At other schools, coaches and agents are treating Tennessee like an open job. Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen is the most frequently discussed name (that isn’t Jon Gruden). Multiple coaching sources confirm Mullen would “fit” with new athletic director John Currie.

It is now known that Butch pulled the reins in on Rock and hasn't let him run the program the way he came in to do... put restrictions on him because players were complaining is was too hard... Rock said "apparently the players know more than I do about this"... said he came because of the past respect he had for Butch, but was now very disappointed in him for not letting him come in and do his job. This is not on Rock.

Not doubting you, but where can I read this? Sounds like you did.

Advertising the position has ZERO to do with NCAA compliance. This is utterly 100% false. I am married to a director of HR for a state of TN university. The head football coaching position does NOT need to be posted. Can you please shut up now?

No

Lately, I'm finding myself agreeing with Wes Rucker all the time. He's definitely a good read right now. (at least for me)

It's entirely possible that "Wes Rucker is a douche" and "Wes Rucker is good at his job" are both true statements.

No, it's not.... but if you want to argue with 15+ years of HR experience go right ahead. Won't ever make you right though.

Ok. We have hit a wall. Neither is changing their stance. If you want to believe documents have been signed for a job that isn't open I can't stop you. I am sure there are plenty of examples out there where we can see coaches being hired without there being an official opening to prove me wrong.

Can you link the laws/policy/documents the back up the point you are making?

Thanks in advance

I would almost be willing to bet Mullen is our next head coach.

Crazy stat of the day: Mississippi State could still win the West. They aren’t eliminated yet.

Sometimes I forget how important it is to have elite coaches AROUND the Head Coach.

If we get Mullen, who would you realistically like to see at position and coordinator?

That works both ways. I am sure I can link policy saying a state job has to be open 10 weeks, 3 on campus interviews have to be made before any offer is allowed. We know from experience their is a waiver that can be gotten to eliminate that timeframe rule. So not sure a link proves anything

Would it help if I gave you specific examples of coaches who signed documents while a different coach was still technically employed?

Would it help if I gave you specific examples of coaching positions that weren't posted before being filled? I can do both..

I haven't hit a wall. You are wrong, I am right. Pretty simple.......
