Jesus dude. Calm down. You're an emotional wreck.

Leave Larry alone!

I agree with the previous poster stating he doesn’t think Frost turns down UF and Nebraska for UT.

Florida is the better job and Nebraska will always have the pull being his Alma mater.

Texas paid Strong $5m to start and we paid Butch $2.95m to start. I don't see any big east (AAC) coaches getting above the Texas numbers for an offer and more likely the offers would be in the $3.5-4m range. Justin Fuente got an initial salary of $3.2m to go to Va Tech.

LWS has said money is not an object for someone like Gruden but for everyone else we will not pay above market value.

Not sure this is correct, we can outbid Nebraska and we can match UF and with a more promising situation for a new head coach.

Lol all you want, no one cares about your opinion and people care about his, get over it.

His posts aren't about rainbows and butterflies so you don't like it. You call it negative, I call it reality... the last decade or greater has been a dumpster fire.

No one is denying that. What we are denying is that while he has proven to be pretty accurate over the years, the tenor of his posts have changed. He is very quick to bring what he thinks is negative, realistic information, and he often caveats what he says by saying it is his opinion based upon what he knows but is not 100% factual.

You really think Gruden is calling recruits and telling them "hey kid keep this on the down low." Lol.

I never doubt that anything can happen in this day and age. It’s higky unlikely; however, I was trying to make a point to Kingston that he doesn’t know exactly what is happening behind the scenes.

Depends. I could see Frost liking our current roster better and not liking the way UF handled the Mac situation. I could also see Frost wanting to stay in the hotbed of Florida for recruiting. He waited for the UCF position because he knew he could get the athletes from Florida and win. The one thing I do feel most strongly about, regardless of how much pull his heart may have for Nebraska, I don’t think he goes there. He mentioned in an article how hard it was to recruit to Oregon. Nebraska would be much worse.

I don’t see Frost turning down both Florida and Nebraska for Tennessee.

You could switch those three schools around any way you want and make a plausible argument why he would choose one over the other two. Which means he will almost definitely remain at UCF :)

I will confess I find this whole process incredibly discouraging. Throughout the whole Butch era, I thought in the back of mind that if Butch failed we’d go big like Bama and Michigan to rescue the program from obscurity.

Sounds like we are trying to but can’t get the big splash hire.

Seems typical of all things UT sports related these days. First and goal and can’t get it in the end zone.

I’m leaning towards think Currie lands Bobo and tries to tell us it’s a homerun. Or tries to sell us on one more year for Butch to fix things.

I need a glimmer or ray of hope.

Your glimmer can at least be that it won’t be Butch next year.

Honestly, why should we not want to believe it? Why should we not hope for a saviour for our football program? Nobody is a slam dunk hire outside of Saban or Meyer. Neither of those guys will ever be here, obviously. But, if we want a unified fanbase, then someone like Gruden would be the one to do it. Do I believe he is coming? I don't. But, I would love it if he did. I don't blame anyone for getting trolled here. They want Gruden to come because they believe he is the best possible hire we can make. I think we all want to hire the best possible, though we have different thoughts on who that is.

Not faulting anyone for wanting to believe but there is that and then there is just being gullible and vouching for anonymous internet posters.

I understand most of these points but it’s just hard for me to see him turning down the Florida job, if offered.

Arguably the best job in the country and he barely has to move zip codes. Already has the recruiting inroads and will have all the resources at his disposal to win as big as he wants to.

Florida is a better job that Tennessee but it's not by a wide margin. Their facilities aren't as good and they just fired a guy in his third year after he won the east his first two. I could see a lot of coaches, hopefully Frost being one, perhaps choosing Tennessee over Florida.

Again, though. Them firing a guy who won the SEC East TWICE IN HIS FIRST TWO YEARS for cause with all kinds of chatter that they're trying to wriggle out of paying him his buyout?

That is not a good look.

No, it's not. I just don't see them encountering any real consequence due to it.

Now quick, can someone just say I'm right?

Yeah, I don’t think it’s going to cause someone to turn down the job because of that. Just my thinking.

If you’re going into the job worried about your buyout if you get canned, probably not the man for a big time job like that.

2nd tier is where we're going to start. I don't believe Fuente is leaving VT for TN. Pay wouldn't be worth it to him.

I also don't think Campbell is an option due to his buyout.

Campbells buyout is overblown IMO.

He makes just over 2mil. Double his salary by paying him 4mil. Over the course of 5 years after paying his buyout it is no different than paying another coach 6 million which is reasonable to think it would take to get Mullen, Fuente or any other established coach,

In other words your are paying a hefty buyout but younate getting a bargain on salary which even things out MC.
