I don't know why you guys think the Gruden stuff is so far-fetched right now given the events of the last 5 days. We're in upside down world right now. The narrative on everything has been flipped. For all we know, Bill Belichick called and begged for the job and Haslam laughed at him.

I get it. Doesn’t look good at a glance. But two things: (1) Doeren’s first year was rough and skews those stats, and (2) he improved their S&P+ pretty consistently, which tells you that his teams were playing better than O’Brien’s teams, even if they weren’t necessarily winning a lot more games.

In fairness, Arkansas had multiple representatives calling coaches at different times saying each was in charge of the coaching search.

We shouldn't let it go if there's even a remote possibility it's true. That's the type of stuff that captures casual fan interest and really sparks a revolt against the status quo in Knoxville.

Now, maybe the Gruden stuff is just more misinformation from the side waging war against the Haslams.

I think the fans are being used as pawns by both, but I'll gladly be a pawn for the side fighting against the people trying to ram Schiano and Doeren into this job. Both sides needs us to be complacent and happily fork over our money, but it's easier to be blissfully ignorant when there's a commitment to winning.

Freak, I have a sincere question for you.

I assume that this website is, at the very least, a significant part of your livelihood. Does this coaching search scare you? I still haven't figured out exactly how I'm going to accomplish it, but if Doeren is the hire I'm checking out until the University provides evidence that they care about winning football games.

If a lot of people feel the same way as I do, revenue streams for websites will definitely take a hit.

It just piqued my curiosity as to whether this is frightening for those who it will affect in more than an emotional way.

I was talking about the Tennessee coaching search. Fans, media, etc know Doeren is not the answer. And there are multiple other candidates that would be tons better. Yet they're pressing ahead with this fiasco.

His first year was rough because of him. They went 3-9 when the year before they were 7-6.

It isn’t good anyway you try to spin it.

And that's why I don't get why people are worried about Kiffin turning us down publicly. Who cares at this point ? Why does it matter? Do we have any pride left?

But I really don't think he would turn us down anyways .

Even if you give him 8 wins his high there to this point instead of 3 wins his first year, it does not change that no to minisical improvement was made. That's with us going to fairy tale land on year 1.... I just can't get their with you. I want the circus over but not at this cost.
