Are there any reports that we have at any point during the search at least gauged interest from Fisher? I mean it's been fairly obvious for the last three or four weeks that he might leave Florida State. I know we don't have the recruiting base of Texas A&M, but if we threw an $8 million check his Way, couldn't we at least have gotten him to talk to us? This whole search is been so damn confusing.

Great. A guy who faints on gameday while serving as a coordinator wants to return to head coaching with hits 9-36(1-31) head coaching record.

Sounds like a good plan. :birgits_giggle:

Yea it's scary. That's why I lean toward Doeren if it's a choice between those 2

I don't want to get my hopes up but is it good that Doreen hasn't taken the job yet- looked to be getting done at record speed last night... maybe our efforts are working!

Would be very Tennessee. Mullen hits a 75-yard bomb on us on the first play from scrimmage next September at Neyland and Kevin Steele face plants. Out cold.

I don't know why you guys think the Gruden stuff is so far-fetched right now given the events of the last 5 days. We're in upside down world right now. The narrative on everything has been flipped. For all we know, Bill Belichick called and begged for the job and Haslam laughed at him.

If they could oust Currie and get Haslam neutered it could happen. I don't see it happening. It took years to let the Haslams root themselves into every facet of the university. It will take years to remove them. They own the governors mansion for goodness sakes. They own DePietro, Davenport, Currie, and several board members. They can do what the hell they want. The only way is to make every fan in the state of Tennessee aware of the Hasalm mafia, which is no easy task.

Ever wonder why the media is so reluctant criticize or even state the Haslams role in the University? It's because they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them. Who runs runs ADs on their radio stations, tv stations, newspapers? It's a rigged system.

I am out also if he is hired. Just bought a nice house at Harrison State park and 30 sec's from Bear Trace Golf course.:rock:

Not the honors course. Guess you’ve never eaten at Olive Garden either.

Do you even know what it means to be a big wig?

Very possible, and yes, we will look worse. Already turned down publicly by Ok St and Purdue coaches.

In all seriousness, I think we are past the point of "looking worse". At this point I could care less what the national media says or thinks. We are on a 72 hour news cycle anyway. It will be forgotten soon enough. I honestly could care less about anyone's opinion outside of our UT family.

Doeren will take the job if he thinks there's a chance he's going to get fired at NC State. Doesn't he lose a pretty senior-laden team after this season?

Coming to UT gives him a fresh set of downs and a hell of a lot more money.

No , Mock. Don't give in to the oppression of the Haslam machine. Resist

There just isn’t a good coach out there for us to hire. If we are being completely honest, Tee probably isn’t the guy either. He is way too inexperienced so things could go very badly with this team’s current shaky foundation.

Morris is our best option and he is going to wait until Tamu is no longer an option at the least.

Exactly.. We go from Schiano, then offer Gundy the moon. Then we offer Brohm good money and take it back, then go to Doorknob for a few coins.

Spot on. This is what scares me

What about state reps who are Democrats and oppose Haslam? Would they look into some things here because I am convinced there is more here than just wanting to control the AD and who our coach is.

We may not get someone we KNOW will be good.

But we aure as heck shouldn’t hire someone we KNOW will be bad.

I'm not worried, i don't think Doeren is coming. He is getting a raise at NCState and a raise for his coaches.

This.

He’s going to go 5-7 next year and get fired more than likely. He’s not bringing back a great team. It’s Butch’s 2016 team all over again but he has the option to get out before it all comes crashing down.
