That's why he'd have to cheat. Or bag men would have to cheat like crazy on his behalf. I don't think the Haslams are going to let "their guy" just wilt on the job like everyone predicts he will.

Butch Jones has the personality of wet cardboard and recruited like a maniac. I assume he had some help in that area.

To be fair, it does not seem we were turned down by Brohm. After offering Gundy 7 million a year, we baulked at a 5 million buyout. It's laughable. I think most UT fans would have been happy with Brohm.

HAHA! I wish Honor's Course but let me tell you just some of the courses I have played around the world. I played the course in Perth, Australia that both Freddie Couples and Wosman won a tourney at. huge double greens. I have played several courses in South Africa, Troutbeck, Zimbabwe, Royal County Downs in Northern Ireland, along with a few others there, and Sawgrass just to name a few. So I have played my share of great courses just not Honor's. Its on my bucket list maybe one day. LOL

I'm going to freaking explode. You could basically hit the reset button on all of this with a simple phone call. And they refuse to do it.

It's so messed up it's difficult to believe something illegal isn't going on.

Also, the fanbases perception of him changes immediately if he starts reeling in guys. The 2019 class will be key. Butch was still a supremely "meh" hire through NSD 2013. It wasn't until summer 2013 that he became "Butch Stones" and all that because of his recruiting.

I predict a similar trajectory with Doeren.

Maybe Steele is now the best thing since sliced bread, but if anybody needs to prove themselves as a Head Coach, it's him. Let him go to ETSU or Walter's State or whatever for a couple of years. If he goes 10 -2 and 12 - 0, then give him a shot at the big time...but right now, he looks like the most risky candidate we could possibly find.

I would rather go with a top high school coach than him right now.

Newt is right. Doeren and this class tanks and so does the team. Tee Martin, Miles, Morris and there is some excitement at least. May salvage this class and it will provide excitement for the season.

There's no doubt in my mind that Less and Tee would save this recruiting class in a big way. Why are they so intent on sucking?

The complete lack of even wanting to talk to Tee is what amazes me. I would like to know what kind of staff he would have in mind at least.

Again, if the Haslams get their way, they aren't going to leave Doeren out to dry on the recruiting trail. They'll give him every advantage. They want to look smarter than the fans and media.

Why spend $7 million on a coaching salary when you can spend $4.5 million and give bag men a few hundred thou in cash every recruiting cycle to spend on blue chippers?

Dont agree. One thing CBJ could do is recruit. He could sell. Plus his teams got better and we were coming off of Dooley so he was able to get the recruits in.

Dorren can't follow CBJ in that regard no matter how many bags he has. IF the Haslams truly want to kill this program why would they spend money to cheat to prop the guy up?
