Petersen would be a freaking home run. But today it’s him. Yesterday it was Campbell. The day before it was Frost. Then it was Mullen, then Gruden. A new name is at the top every day.

I am convinced, nobody knows nuthin

Smells of conspiracy. I am encouraged that the McGoogle talk has died down somewhat.

Maybe my own thoughts are filled with hyperbole but I'm putting so much emphasis on this hire. We've been bad for so long that I feel we've reached the tipping point.

We either pull a Bama and turn this thing around now, or we pull a Nebraska and dig a hole that becomes... ugh, NM.
Imo, we really need to get this one right.

Petersen would be awesome. But I think that’s just another smokescreen for Gruden. But if it’s not Gruden, Chris Petersen would be one of a very few that would make people forget about not getting Gruden.

The spotlight is on Currie. It is in his best interest to knock it out of the park with this hire. UT is a football school. Dead on about the tipping point.

LOL... Tennessee fans...

Some Nebraska fans in the stands Saturday sat right next to the UCF tunnel that led to the field, holding signs that read, "Scott Come Back Home.'' Not to be outdone, another group of Tennessee fans had signs that read, "We Found Our Coach" and "There's Frost In Our Forecast.''

Deal with it

Yeah at the end of the day I feel like nobody knows anything.

I honestly believe that if there was somebody who wasn't a big time booster/John Currie himself who knew what was actually going on it would of been my Dad's buddy. However that dude was wrong too. So now all we can do is connect the dots to what seems most reasonable.

I believe it's Gruden. Others believe it Mehllen. Some believe its Frost. After that who knows what could happen.

I am just thankful it's no longer Butch

Yeah, and I am quite glad no one knows. A lot of coaches out there don't like to have things leaked so that bodes well for us. I just hope there aren't people out there that are so gun ho with Gruden that no matter who we hire next they give them no chance and give the dude a hard time from the get go. If the admin makes a bad hire blame the admin, but root for the HC because if the HC does well then UT does well. We want them to succeed, but I understand and I too am tired of trotting out could be's.

Shoop was unhappy very early in his tenure here. I think him and butch never really meshed. With that being said maybe butch didn’t trust him enough to let him “run the show” or maybe he was running the show and Just couldn’t get our guys to buy in/produce. That part i have no clue.

I hate it. I still think he is a great DC. Do you think there is a chance he might be retained with the next HC? Or do you think he is just done with UT from a personal standpoint?

Can’t see him being back. Defense gave up way too many yards and points.

Under rated post---needs to be seen again:

I'm at the travel agency.

At the travel agency I am uncertain, but there are still lots of options.

For example, the helicopter can take you to several helicopter dick coaches, like Patterson, Peterson, or Harbaugh. And it can take you to the Gruden train.

There's some cold weather options. They can get a little frosty, but there's always some Campbell's soup to keep you warm.

You can go by bus to Starkville. Not the end of the world, but it's still pretty meh.

Finally, if none of those locations are available, Bass has a boat ready. It does not go to the Bahamas at unsuitable times. It's called the Fahr Currie boat.

Question-I don't know much about a Petersen developing elite talent. Would you all say that he check marks that box?

If he does (gussing the answer is yes) just arm him with assistants who know the south for recruiting and TN will mother****ing ride!!!!!!

Yes, and it was undeniably foolish and unacceptable. Likewise when Butch said "f*** 'em all" to UT fans on national TV and Gaulden flipped off Bama fans in their own stadium. I get why Hoke wanted to do it. I just think the final decision to dismiss-- or set steps for return to the team-- should include the incoming HC.

Well explained, and totally agree.

How can you not be enjoying this? (Except bass, he's gonna die of a heart attack at some point during this)

Exactly. We could be miserable with the knowledge Butch got another year. East is ripe for the pickings with the right coach. Got the facilities and a great fanbase. Petersen is going to kill it here!

Hopeful the last part is true .

After an early retirement from my previous career, I became a contractor. Do the large majority of work myself, I've just always enjoyed building things.
When I take a day off or just hang with the family, I drop by the bank or stores to handle personal business, no odd reactions from anyone.
Now when I am working, my attire is different. Jeans and a tee shirt with a ball cap instead of slacks or whatever. If I run to the bank for business or Walmart for some paint trays, I get eyed, followed and car alarms turned on by women just stepping out to get a drink out of a machine. Not all people, just some that assume what kind of person I am.

Of course I could follow natural logic and facts and realize only a percentage of the people react this way. Obviously because they have been sheltered or had a bad experience.
But no, I choose the D4H logic. When that white woman clutches her purse as I walk by, it's obvious she just hates other white people. And therefore, so does everyone.
Your logic is just so flawed.

And for the poster that told Grant that it's natural to question his intentions when using a word, get over yourself. I'm so sick of people pretending it's their right to tell me what I'm thinking when I say something. Believing you know someone's thoughts better than they do is a larger sign of ignorance than the claims you make against others.

On a lighter note: when I hear the word thug, I think of the henchmen from old mob movies and 60's era Batman. Before my time but loved the reruns.

I don’t trust anyone in this world anymore to not be crazy regardless of color. Tell my daughter the same. With sex trafficking and drugs ect., the world is dangerous.
