Sounds about right. I mean who's left? Frost was never really in play. Norvell to Arky. Petersen, Gruden pipe dreams. Still suprised to not see Brohm on here. If Mullen passes, then Campbell huge buyout be damned. I would take Sumlin or Miles...but maybe Currie and crew like the potential they see in Campbell.

I hope the incoming coordinators appear to be underwhelming. When we think that they are going to kill it, they are awful (at least on the DC side). The last underwhelming OC hire (Debord) did a great job. (come at me, if you want(not you Ziti, I mean others who keep calling him a swim coach)).

I think Currie is trying like heck to hit a grand slam but so far there are no biters. If we are disappointed in the hire it won’t be because he somehow isn’t committed to winning or made the wrong choice. I just think coaches go places they think they can meet or exceed expectations, and many coaches don’t think they can right now at Tennessee.

We will see though. I may be totally wrong.

And I’m bullish on UT long term. We have as much going for us as Clemson and they are elite right now. I think we are just stuck in a quandary with the Bama series making us uncompetitive in the East. Need to end that series or have Saban retire.

This is actually more believable than anything.

Hubbs (same contacts as Low) keeps saying Schiano yet nothing from Ohio State side.

Matt Campbell we supposedly already backed away from.

Dan Mullen - keep saying we are meeting yet it never happens. All indications are that he’s staying put.

This all day long. Every good recruiting class has disappointments but when it is every kid in 3 classes in a row, it isn’t the kids. It’s the coaching. We had more talent than Missouri, Vandy, and Kentucky easily. But our coaches completely failed at making them physically and mentally ready to play. The right staff would make this same bunch of kids competitive quick.

I have sung Debo’s praises for a long time. CBJ would still be coaching if Debo stayed.

I was always worried about shoop. Took a beating on this board for it.

This all reeks of misinformation.

Schiano - ridiculus
Campbell - if you are going to spend 9 million just to free him you can spend that money on a more proven candidate
Mullen - meh

None of these guys have that wow factor the people floating this know this. They are trolling cause they know nothing and it is click bait.

With what he did at Toledo and just having experience as a Power 5 HC, Campbell has a more proven track record than Dooley did, but I get the concern. He could end up being a really good hire, but on the front end he would be a big let-down after all the rumors about bigger names.

Campbell hired at 4mil per year saves a bunch of money even with the buyout.
