Imo that is exactly what CBJ feels he needs right now. Run his offense. Why is he not looking to hire w guy wanting to do things his way? He does not think this team needs that right now. Honestly, I can see why he thinks that. This team healthy and running that offense will be just fine. JMO

Well, to start, you can not raise tickets by $1 and instantly have a new million bucks just laying around.

Without getting long winded, the open spigot people seem to think exists at UT hasn't been around in more than a decade (if it ever truly existed in the first place).

And there's a balance between the cold, soulless accounting you seem to think the UTAD practices and the "Turn on the money hose!" mentality a lot of fans have. If the money truly needs to be spent, they'll do it.

Have they trended toward being more careful with money? Damn right they have. It was the only option they had after the financial cesspool Hamilton left.

I think the recruits will relate to Butch, just like they have been. CMB bails and how many current players or recruits seemed to panic? Few if any. IMO they will ride with who ever CBJ puts his faith in.

I think you just made my point for me. And yes, we have 100000 seat stadium. Raising ticket prices by $1 dollar raises approximately $100,000 per game. I realize there are some administrative cost to raise the ticket price but it does raise the price. Do you think Saban is worth the 6 million they pay him? UT has been cheap since the beginning of time and they always will be. As long as people keep throwing money at them they have no incentive to change.

Umm,,Let me think about this??? Go with a guy that has a natty ring on his finger that has managed Olympic athlete's? or go with an up and coming coach? I'll take the Olympic dude.

So basically by your argument we really don't need and OC. Butch handles the recruiting, play calling, game planning. Save the 600k imo. The AD is in dire straits financially. Give it to Cheek.

No, they need the body in place. For all we know DeBorg will help with the OL and Butch could call plays himself.

That natty ring is older than Fulmer's. While running an offensive system that's older than Fulmer. that ring probably h as more rust on it than a 70 model pick up.

It's been hinted by Rucker that Butch could be preparing for multiple scenarios because central Michigan seems bound and determined to hire from his coaching tree. It's apparently a few guys they are considering. it's made me wonder if Mahoney is even being considered since Debord has OL experience.

I'd be curious if all the folks complaining about staff hires would actually step up if called upon. "Want a top notch OC, we need 1.6 million" . "How much cash you have access to" ? LOL

Lol. You don't have to spend even close to that much to get a decent OC. I guarantee you can get plenty of OC'S at $600k rather than a guy that hasn't coached in several years and hasn't been an OC in over a decade.
