I really don't understand the fear that some Vols fans have about Golson ending up in the SEC. This isn't like the DGB situation where he is transferring b/c of legal issues. He is transferring because he isn't going to win the starting job. Anyone who watched his last few games at ND should not be worried.

I don't think our fanbase would know how to react to that. It would probably take a week of it sinking in, prodded along by replays of the game, before many celebrated.

I understand what you're saying, but he's very turnover prone. The combination of our ability to rush the passer and our talented secondary would give me a lot of confidence if he was the QB at Florida or South Carolina.

He probably would have beat Lane in 2013 to back up Neil.

A sophomore Kamara+freshman Hurd+senior Lane would have been a great combo last season. We definitely beat Florida with Kamara in the mix, IMO.

I thought the same. Would have made a good difference in the Missouri game too IMO.

Edit: Kamara = Speed & Elusivness. Would have brought a different element too our offense.

Crap. I know how they will beat us this year.

Grier and Harris will both get abused by Barnett and Maggitt, but the SEC will approve Golson's transfer at halftime.

Golson will take over in the second half and UF will score 35 unanswered points.

He will then promptly retire from football.

It is hard to not be optimistic about next year. We definitely have more talent. But we need to be realistic. The OL is still the key to us having better results.

That's what scares me. We have had a tendency to make back ups look all american as they put up career numbers. I have no doubt we are a much better team. But damn..... I hate it when a back up comes in.

Not so fast. This isn't Dooley's team from 2012. We don't have Bama's depth on either line but our talent on the first team is competitive. We even have some two deep talent now. Saying we "pale" in comparison is inaccurate.
