Same here. I'm not trading anyone for our top 5 DTs either. Stripling is epic and undefeated as an HC, so our guys will develop.

Yep, high schoolers should be jumping at the opportunity to play for Strip, because he's going to get the best out of all his players.

Top 10 College Football Pass-Rushing Duos for 2015 Season | Bleacher Report

Barnett & Maggitt getting some love, hyped as the #2 pass-rushing tandem in all of college football for the 2015 season by B/R.

How are they not the best in the country with better stats and more upside?

The good news to me is that with Barnett and Maggitt getting all of this high praise and good press, no way the SEC Refs can look the other way with OL holding Barnett.
The cameras will be focused on them constantly :)

The refs were horrible last year. Barnett was being held all the time.

I agree Stripling is one of the very best at his specialty in CFB. The NFL would also agree. But it has turned out to be the whole package of D-coaches IMO. I was most worried by Jancek when Butch's staff was announced. I could not have been more wrong. His schemes and calls have been as good as we could ever have hoped with what he had to work with when he arrived. Look at what Martinez and Thig are doing with their guys. Look at all of the talent this unit is not only recruiting, but landing (big fish) with Butch's ability to close the deal. Tell me who you would rather have coaching each position on D. None of us are perfect and mistakes are made by the staff, however, I cannot name anybody I would rather have. Could not be happier. Big orange Kool-aid drinker on that side of the ball.

I just hope that can be said for the O coaches after this next season. They are on the right track.

Good posts. That's the great equalizer and the conference office knows it. Some O-lines are given more latitude than others and it is really obvious. Need an AD that can get things done with that post game. Fortunately Stripling knows techniques to teach his guys to draw attention and beat the grabbing.

The O-line can only double one guy without help from a TE or RB. When you have four beasts in the game the grabbing will only go so far. I doubt grabbing will help anybody that has K-Mack or Shy bull rushing them.

I hate to be a downer but eventually other schools and possibly the NFL are going to make a run at Butchco. Maybe not at the end of next season but I could see the following season having us in major Kermit mode. It's only a matter of time.

Hubbs said on 104.5 that this class will consist of 18-20 and it is going at a very deliberate pace. He said we are being very selective and basically alluded to us turning down multiple players already

As for other schools, Butch would be dumb to leave with all this talent and momentum built. He is on the verge of something special here. Michigan made a run at him and was rejected quickly.

The SEC Office has told the SEC Refs that if they call holding on our opponents OL they will be suspended.

Oh I agree but money talks. I guess it will depend on whether the administration steps up to pay the man. And, as you said, Michigan came calling and freakouts were Already popping up.

That is not surprising, bc our classes have been massive the last 2 years. I've thoroughly enjoyed it. This must be why we are pushing hard for 2017, because we should be losing quite a few next year if people jump to league after 3.

When it happens, it won't be a negative thing, because it will mean we are back where we are supposed to be...among the elite. While I don't believe Butch will leave for another college (or for the NFL, as I believe his style is best suited for college), if he does, we will be very attractive for a big hire.

Probably will end up being 23-25 when its all said and done.

That's putting the cart before the horse, IMO. While it's not outside the realm of possibility, look at it this way; if Butch does wind up leaving for the NFL, he's already made this job tremendously more attractive by recruiting at such a high level that upper-echelon head coaches would be tripping over themselves to come here (a little tongue and cheek...but only just a little).

I'd wager that, at this point, we'd be a more attractive position than Florida was this off season, for the simple fact that we're no longer considered a major rebuild. While I will stop short of saying that the overhaul is complete, we're easily within a year of having legitimate SEC contending talent and depth. Who wouldn't want to come into a position, primed for an SEC title run?

That being said...I don't see Butch as an NFL head coach in the first place. He's too much of a marketer, promoter, and elite recruiter that I could easily see him staying in college for the rest of his career.

Hopefully, he has enough success in the upcoming seasons to warrant him staying here for that time...it would be nice to have stability, yet maintain an elite status within the SEC once again.

It was one of my lowest moments as a fan, too.

Beating a dead horse here but...

If Dobbs starts from the beginning of last season, we win that game and maybe more. It remains my biggest beef with Jones...but water under the bridge.

Beat Florida this year and all won't be forgiven but....close.
