So proud of the fight in this team's players. Absolutely zero quit. They took the fight to Bama and kept it there for 60 minutes. The wins will come, and they will have sustained success. This is being built the right way.

it's call freaking progress. 8-4 or 7-5 instead of 5-6 is progress. Beating a ranked team is progress and not getting blown out every game against a ranked team is progress. Top recruiting classes and players playing 60 minutes is a way better product than the crap we have seen the last few years. Losing is not ok but if you thought they were going to win this one and it would not even be a fight then you are just as delusional as the guys who complained in 98 because we didn't blow out some teams when ut won the natty. Sick of this woe is we crap. We are tennessee and some people are about to pay for all this crap. Sabes knows it as well.

I'd rather beat our rivals than beat up on UK, a struggling Vandy, a hapless Mizzou, a coachless SCAR and our annual homecoming cupcake. Closing out wins against Loser's Row shouldn't be hard. At all.

So we were out coached scoring the go ahead TD with four minutes left. You think they should've just had Hurd take a knee at the one in hopes of running out time and still scoring. Bama had two WR's make great plays. It is what it is. They beat us and we did not beat ourselves or just give it away.

Who says I'm off the train? I just don't think we're close to being "back" as you think. If you think we're winning the SEC next year you need to put the Moranic pipe down and step away. Butch has had 2 recruiting classes that were highly ranked. Saban has had 8 top five in a row. We're not in the same galaxy as Bama. Doesn't mean I don't think the Vols are getting there, just don't think we've arrived yet. I think we need some coaching upgrades as well.

I'm sure he does but people need to get real. As Vol fans we don't like it when the national pundits say we are an 8-4 type squad and a year away, but sometimes we need to listen to them. They have a point. We got beat in part because Chance Hall, a true freshman playing against the best DL in the country, was destroyed on our final offensive play. If Hall were a junior then I'd start to worry. We played our hearts out. You don't win them all. We have never in our history year in and year out won every single game against our biggest rivals. I'm not sure why that is the baseline expectation for people. My baseline expectation is always competitive against Bama, UGA and Florida and it not being a surprise when we take 2 of 3 from them.

No, I think you roll Dobbs out on the last drive instead of letting him sit back there like a freakin mating walrus. Keeps the defense from dropping too deep and allows Dobbs to run out of bounds to save clock.

I don't but that is why it is so freaking encouraging. It is almost like you are contradicting yourself. We should've won and we are crap because we did not or we are so far away that it will be several years. Which one is it?

Not sure who you're talking about but TN was winning with 5 min left in the game, against #8 alabama. We may not have actually won the game but the better team in that game did not win.
