The need for a QB coach is going to be the most overblown topic discussed on this board in the history of the site I bet.

How many schools actually have an assistant coach assigned to just QBs?

I know Alabama nor Clemson do and QB development sure doesn't hurt them.

An OC who is a QB coach is what most schools have. That's what we need

Both have QB coaches.

Only Debord could get Brady drafted in the 6th round

He wasn't that great in college. Every Michigan fan was in love with golden boy Drew Henson. Even in the year he took over in NE, he wasn't a finished product. He was flabby, slow and inconsistent at the combine and his grade had him as an undrafted free agent. I think DeBord made some calls and talked him up. 6th round was pretty damn good, all considering.

I hope you are going to throw Catbone a baby shower. That's the least you could do.

I lost it when you posted that 😂

10-2 was the bar for me this year, just like 8-4 was for me last year.

Because of the injuries, I probably would have been able to forgive a 9-3 season pretty easily if it weren't for the fact that the team has just looked so poorly prepared and and our game plans have been so bad for most of the season (even in most of our wins).

Last year I was pretty forgiving of all of our losses because the team looked dialed in and usually played hard and with discipline. This year I'm just not sure we can say the same.

I don't think it would happen, but Rich Rod at OC would be interesting.

I thought he got a bad deal at Michigan, as Brady Hoke came in and won with Rich's players, right at the time he was ready to see the fruits of his labor. He hasn't done so well at Arizona either.

Can't deny his success at WV, at the same time.

The problem is, Butch would never know if Rich is gunning for his job, behind the scenes. I could only see him coming here for a year or two, to get his name back in play for another P5 job, but who knows?

One thing is for sure, Butch has to make a move, and it has to be successful.

Larry has proven reliable when it comes to coaching searches but I doubt he has any inkling what Rich Rod is thinking.

And for that to happen, it would take a monumental pride swallowing for Butch.

And that's the reason we will stay a 8-4, 7-5 team. Butch has to understand that in order to win in the SEC you have to constantly adapt.

Lol.

So we don't need a QB coach we need an OC. That was the point I was making.

The point you're missing here is that Debord doesn't really have a history of being hands on with QBs. Other than OC jobs, he's been an OL/TE coach, not a QB guy.

We need a new OC AND we need him to be a guy with a background of being hands on with QBs. That's all anybody is saying. I don't see why you have to convolute it so much.

Nobody's saying you're wrong. Nobody. The loss on 10/29/16 was a terrible loss. Inexcusable.

We're just saying that it happens. Fulmer year 4 (and a half, really)...much worse loss than last Saturday. And that team (Team 100, right?), with respect to personnel, was in much better shape than the current team.

Are you talking about Memphis? That was a horrendous loss, yes, but this one was worse because of what was at stake. That game did not affect our chances to win the SEC and this one all but decimated it.
