Someone smarter than I please explain what this means and why it's important

@zach_barnett: Georgia lawmakers are helping Kirby Smart Saban-ize UGA football https://t.co/CQzRdklGlU https://t.co/mppDYmZHHa

Sabanizing means

Installing shorter drinking fountains (footstools are verboden).

All chairs in the facility will be shortened with the exception of HC .

Local media has been warned all female reporters must wear flats.

No questions about the prick he hired and his daughter.

This whole phone record thing is great news IMO. It means that this is the best they could do to try and keep the story in the news and drag UT's name down. They're running out of bullets in their gun if the best they could come up with is Butch calling people.

When a situation arises shouldn't the coach investigate and call folks to find out what happened?

Good stuff. Thanks

I wonder if recruiting or scouting emails would have to be turned over if requested

Yeah, according to WSB Atlanta, they do. Greg McGarity also said when this was passed he has stopped writing down things and emailing so he doesn't have to turn over everything. This law was passed specifically for UGA athletic department. The AJC and first amendment advocates are pretty angry about it. It was also tacked onto a bill and passed a few minutes before midnight on the last day of the session from what I understand. Kirby Smart also lobbied lawmakers for it.

What do you mean by this part? If you mean like whether we should use 5 or 8 receivers a game, I'd agree. But if you were saying the public shouldn't have the right to foia info on say potential criminal activity involving players, I'd disagree.

Sounds like everything no matter what the subject can be made public if it's on email

I'm not one of those guys. I'm just as hard on guys on our team as I am on players of other teams.

Jacoby simply doesn't wow me on tape. Now there aren't many highlights of him out there so that could explain my hesistance to cosign on him being the best in the state.

From what I've seen he's nothing like Sean Taylor. Nowhere close to the same in size or athleticism. Sean Taylor is once in a generation. I just don't see that.

Do you think before you type?

And even if they proved something, what would that be exactly? Remember what this lawsuit is about--institutional sex discrimination (not whether Butch called Drae Bowles a traitor, etc.).

That's my point. The article didn't enlighten us about a single thing.

Or written in any form and voicemails can be foia'd as well.

Edit: But I think if the University can prove it is proprietary info, they wouldn't have to release it. I'd think how you coach your football team would fall under that designation.

If we're 7-0 heading into the bye week:

-We're likely #1 in the nation
-We've locked up the SEC East
-We have an excellent shot at going 12-0 in the regular season
-We could potentially make the playoffs even with a loss in ATL, especially if the loss was to a playoff-caliber West team
