Barnett and Cam both listed
Hoping for 12-0
10-2 with certain ones being the 2 are acceptable. If the 2 losses are Florida and Bama its going to be bad. I say why not 11-1 with only loss to Bama in regular season setting up the rematch for a chance at college football playoffs. (I can dream)
(original post) With trey sermon and trey blount off the board (for now) and is still needing 2-3 running backs and 2-3 wide receivers, who are our top three targets at those two positions as of right now and how strong is KD Nixon's commitment at this point.
Cam Akers and Ty Chandler remain the two running backs at the top of Tennessee's wish list, and there's no question Tee Higgins is the Vols' top target at wide receiver. Donovan Peoples-Jones is another five-star who has been involved with Tennessee for a while, although he's probably going to be a tough pull for the Vols. They really like Top247 WR Jaylen Harris of Ohio Ohio State is probably the favorite to land him and Top247 WR Jeremiah Holloman remains high on the Vols and a high priority for Tennessee. Princeton Fant is another name to watch in-state.
Nixon seems to be as firmly committed to Tennessee as a prospect can be this early in the year after visiting a school just one time. It's often tricky to hold onto guys from Texas, but I do think he's more open to leaving the state than a lot of Texas kids are. He's certainly worth watching over the next several months. If Texas, Texas A&M, TCU or Baylor extends an offer to him any time soon, that could make things a bit more interesting. But right now I think the Vols are in good shape.
With so many guys committing early now all over the south, why are in-state prospects seemingly doing the exact opposite, especially the mid-state kids? Even the mid-tier prospects seem to be handling their recruiting like they are national prospects...Sort of baffling IMO.
As far as Tennessee's in-state targets not making early decisions, I think there are a couple of reasons for that. First of all, there are some in-state guys who really like the Vols, but I don't think there's anyone in this class who has a Tennessee offer right now who was ever going to commit to UT upon getting an offer. Also, this is a banner year in Tennessee, and there are a lot of schools going after some of the Vols' in-state targets, so a number of those players are visiting other schools, waiting to see which teams offer this spring and taking their time to make sure they're making the right decision. I think you'll see some activity this summer, though, and Tennessee still is in pretty good shape with several of its in-state targets.
(original post) Oh and satellite camps... whats the plan with those?
Good question. Before the initial ban on satellite camps, I know Tennessee had worked on at least some preliminary plans for a satellite camp in Atlanta. Now that the ban has been lifted, will the Vols have a satellite camp there or anywhere else as early as this year? We'll see.
But I know Tennessee has had serious discussions about holding satellite camps in at least a handful of different states. I would be shocked if Tennessee didn't have some sort of presence in the Nashville area and somewhere near Atlanta, and I think North Carolina, Virginia and Florida are all very realistic possibilities, too.
I think the satellite camp thing is going to help Tennessee and probably hurt UF and UGA the most. We definitely need to set up a camp in Atlanta and I hope schools from all over start pulling all the kids away from UGA.
For the few English soccer fans we have here, how about Leicester City?
Not to have a long off-topic discussion, but even if you don't follow soccer, you should read this.

To put it into perspective, it would be something like a 2-11 team winning the national championship the next season in football, with basically the same players. Incredible stuff.
