Point proven. Mac has been great when he's had great talent to work with. He couldn't get Treon going. How's he going to get a walk-on, two-time transfer going? Will be interesting to watch.

I think Shoop is a great hire. All I was saying is that I know the stats and people are getting a little ahead of themselves by saying "look what he did at Vandy with a bunch of potatoes so imagine what he will do with all the talent at Tennessee." It's not that simple. I think he's going to do great but I won't be surprised to see him drop statistically even though in reality he will field a better defense. How is that possible? It's possible because stats don't tell the whole story.

He never had a 39 ranked D like we did last year. These guys will be better than last year even if Jan was still here. With Shoop, they will be better than they would with Jan and be a top 15 D. Jan had a tough time getting a job and no DC offers. Shoop had several big time schools that wanted him. Circumstances and stats with normal common sense reasoning would lead one to believe in UT having a kick butt D this year. So let's move along. No VBS allowed about the D.

How would anyone know the answer to that other than Marty Mc...nm he didn't go that far in the future.

Again Treon Harris. Even Gruden couldn't fix Harris. All Del Rio has to do is be average and not make costly mistake.

Wow, what a tough call for the kid.

Is he still going to try and go to College somewhere? A degree (though not helping in the short term) could really help him take care of his family.

What a shame.

No doubt a terribly difficult time for he and his family, and I have no idea what the situation is for them personally, but this may certainly be a decision he regrets in the future.

In no way is this post meant to be insensitive.
