lawsuit is hammering recruiting. nothing else is impacting it but that
-LWS

Yeah. Stopping Grier on 4th and 14 and going to ATL >>>>> the lawsuit when it comes to impact on recruiting.

They have had to answer questions about bowl bans because of the lawsuit, etc. Most of which are not remotely true or even a possibility. However it's something they are having to address.

Fortenberry elaborated on this a while back and said that other schools are using it to negative recruit against us, but once the staff gets them and their families on campus, they can clear things up pretty quickly.

Well, if you're taking Larry's word that the lawsuit is hammering us, then you might also be relieved to know that he predicted 11 wins today.

By then, the lawsuit should be settled and recruiting will skyrocket.

If we did go the poaching route (and if Butch even leaves, which is a longshot IMO), I think they'd have to go after Dabo first and foremost. I don't particularly like the guy, but he's a great coach and elite recruiter. At this point in his career, he's a more accomplished Butch Jones IMO.

Never Dabo. The humiliation it would cause when he leaves us for Bama would not be worth the couple good years we'd get.

There are some that are told what to say on the radio and internet. I really believe Larry is legit. I trust him, and agree with nearly everything he says. 11 wins is just what the doc ordered

To be closely followed by a win in the SECCG
Followed closely by a playoff win
And final order is to whoop osu for a NC.
Now THAT is what the doctor ordered :hi:

Winning. That's what football players want to see, not the result of a civil lawsuit. While I don't doubt there are a handful that are curious about the outcome, you're kidding yourself if you think that it's a big enough deal that it's had a profound affect on recruiting. All it's done is given opposing coaches something to talk about...regardless of how insignificant it appears to prospective recruits.

Well, would reporting the truth hurt the program any more than the lawsuit itself already is (if it's as bad as Larry suggests)?

I think Hubbs and Fort are being truthful. They are pretty damn conservative and even pessimistic about things most of the time, so I think if the lawsuit was truly hammering recruiting, they would mention it more often.

Clemson fans down here in SC say they have heard their staff is using the law suit, combined with the failure to post any NFL draft picks, against TN to target the best recruits in the state. Kind of reverse raiding TN like we used to raid the state of SC in the 90's. But as someone said earlier, we win 10+ in 2016, and resolve this suit, and this class turns around in a hurry.

We just need a big-time recruit to jump on board to help calm things down a bit. Been almost a month since we landed Crosby.

Don't think Dabo is s great x and o coach.His strengths are alot like CBJ.Great recruiter,promoter and rah rah guy.He hires good assistants but up until last year couldn't win the big game.Also coaches in a much easier league than CBJ.
