- Shoop is the safety whisperer

- wish Canales was still at North Texas. Him and Butch are good buds and he would probably share a good amount of scouting info with us after their game with UF this week

- I only realized today that if Saban doesn't beat #1 Ohio State back in 1998, we potentially never play for the national title

Tuttle is coming off an injury. Didn't even play in the first game. Let's see how many snaps he gets when we hit our 4 game gauntlet.

Jumper being a junior has nothing to do with why he is playing IMO.

It's obvious Tuttle coming off an injury is still our best D-lineman. Jumper may have the cerebral part down but his athletic ability nullifies what ever gray matter advantage he has IMO. He got us beat last year and will again this year if he plays in significant portions of the game. He started over Kirkland last year for a good portion of the season and when Kirkland did take over he was a marked improvement. Many thought he should have been playing since game 1. That's the point I am getting at.

Unfortunately it's the most important 3-4 weeks of our schedule. I just thought the way Butch said it Monday- it gave some hope that Kirkland could be back next week by some miracle. Wishful thinking I know- his injury looked horrible.

He's starting Danny O and Vickers over Tuttle. Tuttle has shown to be our best D lineman. I like both of the aforementioned players by the way.

Edit: Also, Jumper has played last year so he has senority based on that. Hell, I can learn the defense but your sure as hell wouldn't want me out there.

Tuttle has balled out for sure, but were you mid-bong when it was discussed by the power that be (on here) that he may redshirt? They're understandably cautious and bringing him along. Starting isn't the end all be all in our DL rotation...somehow Tuttle and K-Mac were out there in important situations. :hi:

Edit: Keep your tired, chemically fossilized carcass away from my defense! :aggressive:

Kirkland had a significant biceps injury shortly after EEing...delayed his debut. Pretty sure he was starting around the Florida game.

Not disagreeing with Tuttle being best d lineman or jumper being a liability.

Seniority isn't the reason why Tuttle has played behind them and it isn't why jumper plays.

I wonder if the Berry brothers just aren't really that invested in Football. I'm not criticizing really. I mean, I get why. Maybe they are just not hungry enough. Some people love to play, but just not as much as they love everything else.

Evan actually is good. Misused but he's good and coaches should've moved him to offense.

I am assuming this was directed at me. If so, I see you butchna. :hi:

Tuttle has made it back quicker than I expected. Doubt I ever said red shirt.

Seems like #22 is making it difficult for Evan Berry to get on the field. And from what I've seen from Abernathy, I'm not surprised. I believe he leads for Berry on kickoffs, and he looks as fast or maybe faster than Berry. I've been very impressed.

He's not either but he's Fast. People on here were worried about him but he was standing out for a reason even then. Kid has a high football IQ. You could see how he was playing coverages late last season. He was the feeder man on two huge hits E.Moseley one is the one most will remember. If he makes the 1st team on the All-SEC team don't be surprised. His stats are going to be crazy. You can't avoid him because of the way he's used. His versatility is allowing us to blitz relentlessly from the nickel.

Didn't we play a one loss FSU team? K-State and UCLA lost I believe. Those were the only other two undefeated teams at the time.

You guys blaming Jumper for the OU loss have short memories or no interest in being truthful. How many times did we have Mayfield cornered and he got away? If Alex Ellis catches that one pass, the game is likely over. The game is full of "what ifs" and you want to concentrate on one player. It's a team game, made of of many plays and no one player causes a win or a loss. You want to pick and choose the plays that hurt but don't want to recognize that it's a team game, full of many players and many imperfect plays by a lot of players. I have no doubt it will continue from many of you over the coming weeks.
Is Jumper our best player--no. Does he have some liabilities--sure. But he's our best available now so quit blaming everything on him. Why don't you try being a bit more positive and appreciative of the effort of these kids as you hide behind your anonymous keyboards.

Abernathy is ballin out this season. Wonder what they will do with Warrior. I'm still waiting to see him in action. But this is what happens when you develop depth. Our secondary is flat out scary.

Can't wait to dismantle the Gators. This defense will absolutely eat. Del Rio is a sitting duck and will be getting up from his back all day.

While you were sleeping, they switched out the cyanide tooth for one filled with a devilish neurotoxin. It will paralyze all but your extra ocular muscle, diaphragm and heart. It won't kill you, but instead will allow you to observe the horror as it unfolds. You won't be able to to interfere. Oh, and you will not be able to control bowel or bladder, so there is also the stench of your own excrement do deal with too. (Smell doesn't use muscle at all) Truly a devil's brew...we found out too late to save you, but others have been taken out of harm's way. Godspeed sir.

:salute:

I really regret having Mexican last night.

Tell the snipers to hurry plz.

Kirkland should've been starting in the Oklahoma game. Jumper was doing what he was doing versus Bowling Green.

Kirkland knew the defense but was weeks behind due to the injury. Second guessing Jancek is nothing radical, but I believe he had rationale. Somebody brought up the point of "gamers". Players when don't/can't practice well but bring it in games? Kirkland was a true freshman. How do you test that "gamer" facet? Against OKLAHOMA? I'm sure we would have been understanding if he still wasn't back physically and limited criticism. :)

Warrior is a freshman so we'll see. Abernathy can still play CB and if moving him there gets our best DBs on the field next year I'm all for it. At worst Warrior starts his junior year similar to TKjr (who shouldn't have had to play behind McNeil).

I test it versus Oklahoma personally. Play the young guys and grow with them. Our offense should've closed that game out anyways and the coaching is to blame period for that loss.
