That is your opinion. You are entitled to it. Doesn't make is true. The cerebral aspect is definitely 'acceptable' reasoning to the coaches whose jobs are on the line. They have the opinion, based on THEIR football knowledge, that it gives them the best chance to win the game. Is your opinion right, while theirs is wrong? Possible. Your opinion vs their opinion on this type of matter will 'definitely' play out in their favor more often than not.

It is my opinion thus the IMO and it's as valid as yours or any one of the other morans on here. It's funny how other opinions on here are wrong unless you agree with them. And when I say "You" I am not talking about you exclusively. Coaches screw up decisions a lot. They are not infallible. We discuss things here and second guessing coaches are part of that discussion. Like I said my opinion is no more or less valid than yours. Enjoy yours.

I strongly suggest anyone who fears Florida to watch them versus Kentucky. I see nothing to fear at all. Del Rio can't read coverages at all.

Plus he has zero mobility and a weak arm.

Dudes a game manager at best. Not a playmaker.

We'll be living in the backfield against him. I expect 5-6 sacks by our defense.

D-line is filthy.

Watching the 2nd half and Barnett is unblockable, the DTs are having their way on he inside, and Kongbo/Taylor are having major impact.

Very impressed with how Taylor played. Didn't realize it during the course of the game in real time.

Totally agree on Taylor. Didn't realize he played as much as he did. And he looked very impressive when he was out there.

On paper, we should have beat UF the past two years, but we didn't.

Don't care how bad they look, how many injuries, etc,

I'll believe it when I see the clock hit zero and we actually win on the field.

We NEED to blow them out like in 1992 with a score of 45-3.

That would go a long way with this teams confidence and momentum for the rest of the season, especially that brutal 4 game stretch.

Vegas had the line at -1 against Florida the last two years. Essentially toss-ups. And that's how they've played out. We lost by 1 point each game.

The idea we should have won isn't based on fact.

This year we're 9.5 point favorites. So this is the first time according to Vegas we should win.

I think he does defer to some guys over others sometimes for different reasons (not always seniority) and doesn't always play the best players.

  • As Breaker said above, TK arguably should have logged more minutes last year.
  • Dobbs should have played sooner and a redshirt was not a realistic option for him in 2013 or 2014 but Jones tried.
  • Kendrick sat a lot when it seemed he earned more playing time.
  • Any time that Jumper plays, he is playing over someone more physically capable I would think.
  • Jack Jones was a red shirt candidate this year supposedly. What in the world?

I've tried to trust that CBJ knows what he is doing and there is a method to his madness. He knows more than I do for sure but as a fan it is frustrating. Also, fans are often right about things that coaches get wrong. We have cut down our WR rotation for one.

It seems like he should do the inevitable immediately. I don't see any way that C Jumper remains the guy at LB if DK is out until late October as it is feared. I would just pull that bandaid off now and find out who the guy is gonna be. That's just me though.

A lot of that looks like revisionist hindsight to me. My recollection is that Dobbs was not at all ready as a passer his first two seasons, and was barely adequate last year.

Right or wrong, I will always associate Randy Sanders with getting Alex Brown drafted in the first round. Why they never could figure out that they needed to help out the LT during that game is beyond me.

That was also a game where Alex Brown was timing the snap count and we were never smart enough to figure that out and change it up, some.

Rethinking my previous answer, I'll agree to that...and hell we did get in position to kick a game winner. It just seems like the o doesn't go for the kill shot. We don't seem like we want to run up the score when we have opportunities

We ran for 200+ on Florida. Game should've been over with.

I've always had a slightly different take on the #2 than some others.
When a redshirt comes off the bench after development, I always see a lot of
" oh my God, why haven't we been playing him the whole time? Freaking coach is an idiot" (FF of course).

This doesn't go for every player but for many I often think
"Nice, looks like the redshirt year/ development time worked".

Like I said, just a different take.

Dobbs still isn't accurate. He has improved a lot. To me, he has been the best option at QB since he arrived on campus because of his mobility and because our O line hasn't been good at pass protection.

2013 is probably a stretch on my part but trying to redshirt him in 2014 was not in the cards in my opinion.

What else looks like revisionist hindsight to you?

Dobbs has improved in accuracy but he's being DUMB with the ball under pressure. Don't know if he realizes that he has a REAL defense this year. But he needs to.

I like his improvement in the deep passing game, but he definitely needs to take better care of the football. There's no reason for him to force things when they aren't there. Daniel can still boom punts and the defense is tightening up with every snap they play it seems.

He's trying to prove he can throw the ball more so this year, forcing bad passes. His legs are his real threat the dude just glides when he runs

Dude it's an ankle sprain. Its an injury that happens in basketball every day.

Guys come back in a few weeks.

Its routine.

False.

The typical "ankle sprain" that occurs in basketball every day is the classic plantarflexion/inversion sprain, resulting in sprains of the anterior talofibular ligament (grade I), anterior talofibular ligament and calcaneofibular ligament (grade II), or anterior talofibular ligament, calcaneofibular ligament and posterior talofibular ligament (grade III). Typically ankle musculature can mask these injuries and add stability to the ankle joint, which is why players come back quickly from these injuries.

A "high ankle sprain" is also called a "syndesmosis sprain", which is typically caused by excessively forced dorsiflexion. These injuries take longer to heal because it tears the syndesmotic ligaments and interosseus membrane that connect the tibia and fibula, leaving the ankle joint a lot less stable than with a plantarflexion/inversion sprain.

Kendall running his mouth when he probably shouldnt

"I think they (Ohio State) have a really basic defense," said Kendall. "Baker (Mayfield) – he'll light them up. I'm really looking forward to it, and if my number's called, I think I can do the same."

There are a million different reasons that a player may not have earned a coach's trust. Fans know less than 10% of the picture. Even great athletes can have problems we don't get to see. This is why 5-star busts are fairly common. Sometimes they just don't get the whole picture together.

I really like the players that even surprise the coaches when they get on the field. The so-called gamers. It's fun because even the coach is going, "where did that come from?"

Another example: Pacman Jones of Titans fame. Dude made a great interception early in his career, and people were talking him up. It turns out he was in completely the wrong place. That might even be why the QB didn't expect him there. He got lucky, and it could have gone badly.

Football is a crazy game with so many facets.

Alright folks, if you haven't ever listened to this epic rant...do so now. And even if you have, it never gets old! This is a rant from the local Michigan State radio guy from 2006 when MSU choked away a big lead to Notre Dame. Since this weekend is the 10 year anniversary I think every CFB fan should listen, so share with friends!

It's a long listen but worth every second...

Taylor looked undersized to me after re-watching. Such a large frame though, he will be a nightmare off the edge by his Junior year if he adds about 30 lbs.

He could add some weight to his frame but he already looked plenty big enough, but I do think he could easily play at 260-270.

Saturday he used his hands well, had a couple nice moves, played the run/option beautifully a couple times. Very impressed.

He gave Barnett a breather for 3-5 plays at a time and we didn't miss a beat.
