Like Florida will do to us, we need to do the same. Stack the box. Exotic blitz. Play tight man to man. Make Appleby throw the ball under pressure.

I have been 100% certain the last two years that we would beat Florida, so take it as a good sign that I have no idea what's going to happen on Saturday.

I'll be at work...uh...."working"....

Hey, I'm in Lebanon now. I'm going to the game this Saturday, but maybe I could set it up to somehow allow my alarm to go off at home, and you could just happen to be in the area, and respond to the call, and then it could take you like 3.5 hours to check things out and fill out the report....

Wow.... just wow at the product that is on the field and how it is performing right now...

he lets his QB run also. Opens up everything else like the Red Sea. We have seen it happen but its only here and there.

And to think, Lamar Jackson was VERY close to signing with Florida... Thankful for how that one played out.

Running the numbers on Dobbs for the most recent 8 home Power 5 games over the last two seasons:

2014 Alabama
2014 Kentucky
2014 Missouri
2015 Oklahoma
2015 Arkansas
2015 Georgia
2015 South Carolina
2015 Vanderbilt

Dobbs has a 58.88 completion percentage, with 1748 yds passing, 14 TD and 5 Int, and 401 yds rushing and 5 rushing TDs. His record is 4 and 4 (wins over '14 Kentucky, '15 Georgia, '15 South Carolina, and '15 Vandy).

His average statline would be 19/31 218 yds, 2 TD 1 Int, 50 yds rushing and 1 rushing TD. Good enough to beat Florida on Saturday?

Just now getting caught up on this thread.

I've seen quite a few positive posts about Buchanan. From my seat Saturday it looked like he was getting abused. I haven't watched the replay, but was it not as bad as that?

I would say Moseley got abused, but I think you have to try covering first.

Again, maybe replay will show otherwise.

If Dobbs is personally responsible for 3 TDs then we win. But I don't see that happening.

One of the biggest things for me is Tennessee has to be more careful with the football. There's been too many fumbles (most recovered, and credit is owed to the coaches and players for the speed at getting on loose balls) and some really silly picks (along with a pick last week that was all on the receiver -- the throw was fine). Florida has a lot of talent and speed on defense, and if the Vols keep playing loose with the ball, they're going to pay for it.

Points will be at a premium.

I'm making the seven hour trip for this one. I'll be doing my part, which is yelling my lungs out. If you're planning on attending so you can sit on your hands and chew your fingernails, you should consider selling your tickets.

Time to put this silly little streak to bed once and for all.

I haven't look at the stats, but I'd guess that these defenses which Dobbs has faced have been considerably better.

As long as that INT is not a pick-6 then I believe it is. Hurd or Kamara rushes for another TD as well.

Have to be able to run, and have to stop the big play.

Defense has to get off the field, which in this game is a derivative of the offense not going 3 and out. A 3 and out is ok every now and then, but do it 2-3 times in a row, the game will break towards UF. Same rule applies to them.

Using our 2015 home games against Power 5 Teams (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina and Vanderbilt) Hurd and Kamara combine for an average of the following:

29 carries, 133 yds, 1 TD, 53.8 receiving yards and a receiving TD.

In those same games, Medley averages 2 FG made per game, and 4 XPs made.

So, using Dobbs stats i posted previously, I think we'll score around 34 points this week. That will be enough to beat these Gators.

Vols 34 Gators 23.

Petrino at a big school would be ridiculous. I think he waits to leave Louisville after Jackson goes Pro. Also I think he has a massive buyout so doubt he leaves this year. whonknows we may need a new coach by then
