Sure they did, and rightfully so. But the perceived exasperation in your post over everyone "pitching tents" for him came across to me as pretty defensive. No one is saying he's not scum, or hasn't left his teams in massive holes when he cuts and runs, or even necessarily they want him at UT.
Maybe you are right, I'm reading too much into the toxicity in here- not from the negativity, but from everybody being so defensive about really what are constructive comments...the replies are "sack up" and crap like that. No real room in the middle for real discussions. My bad.
Dobbs can throw darts when his feet are set. But even given time, he needs to learn how to put some touch on passes. Two this past week if he put just a little air under them, Malone could have ran under and made a play.
Hey. I don't grammar good either but that didn't stop me from gadgeatin kindygarten last year.
This is the difference between here and the FF. We can joke and not be all doom and gloom. If this was the FF it would go along the lines of:
"Well at least I grammar better than the Vols. We will never beat anyone at grammar. Did you see the poor grammar from the players? We are doomed! We will never win at grammar ever!!!"
The posters over in the FF make me surprised that they haven't murdered themselves yet. Every time I make the mistake of going over there (I hate to admit it), I come away wanting to kick puppies (just a feeling, I wouldn't kick puppies).
IIrC one of those he was hit right after releasing the ball. I agree he needs more touch but he's a decent passer when he is allowed to set and throw. He's not near as bad as people act like
No English degree. I just was alert in 6th and 7th grades.
And for you have went fans:
Gone is the past participle of to go. Used as the verb of a sentence, it must always be preceded by an auxiliary verb such as has, have, had, is, am, are, was, were, be, or one of their contractions. Went is the past tense of to go. It never takes an auxiliary verb.
If English is your first language, you do not have an excuse for poor syntax.
Over here lately it has been all:
"Oh man! Look at how that team grammars! I wish our grammar looked like that team's grammar. I wish our coaches would open up their dictionary and let our players grammar more looser than they are. We will never have grammar that good though."
screw that you have to get vertical on these guys to loosen them up. I think a flea flicker on the first play would be neat-o.
He was being pressured on the second one to Malone. I really don't think you can blame Dobbs on the pass across the field. Malone needed to kick it in gear, and the pass was only a yard long. Better to be long than short on that one (insert joke here).
