Everyone says that, then they end up With Jones, Smart, mcelwain. True home runs are few and far between in the current landscape, and Sumlin would be pretty good. JMO

I think Sumlin is an upgrade over Butch, but only marginally. Great recruiter. Pulls in too much talent to go 8-4. Particularly, that defense has too many good players to be so squishy.

I would take Fleck, Brohm, or Taggart before Sumlin.

There's always a risk hiring a lower division coach, but the reward is there. IMO, there's a bigger chance in finding the coach who can take us to the next level by looking at coaches who have won at a lower level than someone who hasnt won anything of substance at a P5 school.
