GoVols247 says QD starting to run away with the job. Their source that has watched some practices says QD is distancing himself by a long way. JG struggles come when they move to 11 on 11 and 7 in 7 work.

That isn't surprising to me considering he is 2 yrs behind QD and that was his problem in Elite 11. Looked like the best guy in drills on air and had a ways to go when a defense was involved. Typical freshman issues and not alarming. He works hard so it will come with time

they said it's not over though as you can't count out a guy with that much talent with a mth to go. It could click at any moment.

I hope we can play well enough in the first 4 games for JG to get as much action as possible. Whichever one plays (or both), I am just excited to see what a great passer will do in this offense. Worley was limited, and Dobbs was a great athlete and his weakness was passing. The running game should be a strength, but I hope the staff gives these guys some freedom to throw the ball.

He's not really 2 years behind, is he? I mean he is in his 2nd year and QD is in his 3rd year, right?

Yep one of biggest issues last two yrs is lack of putting games away early so QD could get real productive snaps. Instead by the time he came in he was a handoff machine. it is critical to put Indiana st away in first half to get starters out and let depth get their playing time in before Florida

We need to understand also that the offense was geared to Dobbs strengths. When he checked in, they didn't make any changes for his particular comfort level. If Dormady wins the starting nod, the offense that Guarantano took over in backup situations wouldn't be dramatically different.

The most surprising one to me is that they all think Georgia is going to come up here and win. Eason is still somewhat unproven in my opinion, as is their O-line. They do have two proven backs, if they can stay healthy. They also have a stud TE, but their remaining receivers have not proven to be playmakers to this point. I think that their D is pretty good, but not great. I do not believe their hype.

Is it true that it was said yesterday that tuttle was very limited and that Brady Hoke said that the d line has a long long way to go?

Hoke is notorious in terms of how hard he pushes his lines. The guy is demanding but does so in a way that his lines accept it. He's a very good but tough coach. When he says they aren't ready or have a long way to go you have to consider where he wants them to be.

That's great news. I've always liked Pig. Great guy and good player despite what happened.

Be careful telling the FF that. They were destroying Pig yesterday and I took up for him, then it became my turn to be destroyed. That's why I said I hated the FF yesterday. I came back to the kinder, gentler RF before I ended up posting something that would have got me banned for a year.

The more I look at that schedule and think about last year, the more I think I'm going to be disappointed with less than 9 wins. Not saying that's fair, just not seeing many permutations of 8 wins that get me excited.

It's okay Dog. Just stay inside the fence where it is safe.

Anyone who thinks Kentucky is gonna beat us needs to get their head examined.

Butch Jones era average score over 4 years: 45-22
Butch Jones teams vs Ky last 3 years: 50-24

We even gave them 2 garbage touchdowns last year late in the 4th to make it look respectable. Kentucky football is a joke. They have beat us 2 times in 30+ years.

We are gonna score half a hundred on them and there's not a dang thing they can do about it.

Natural order of things can be good for the team.
