GoVols247 says QD starting to run away with the job. Their source that has watched some practices says QD is distancing himself by a long way. JG struggles come when they move to 11 on 11 and 7 in 7 work.

That isn't surprising to me considering he is 2 yrs behind QD and that was his problem in Elite 11. Looked like the best guy in drills on air and had a ways to go when a defense was involved. Typical freshman issues and not alarming. He works hard so it will come with time

they said it's not over though as you can't count out a guy with that much talent with a mth to go. It could click at any moment.

Well I'll enjoy this coaching search.

Bryan Fischer, whoever that is.

He also finishes by saying, "The schedule is absolutely brutal however and it will be mildly surprising if there's not a coaching search in December."

I think what is driving me insane about the "hottest seat in the SEC" nonsense is Sumlin's AD literally put him on notice and they don't even care.

Currie is putting a fair amount of effort to at least quell that stuff for now, while guy at A&M did every thing but put a hard number on the season.

Yet Butch is the one under the gun.

Its nuts.

So if QD runs away with the QB spot we will be searching for a new coach? Lol. Have you not noticed all the practice videos showing the QBs under center? The offense is gonna be very different under CLS. It will be more pro-style than ever and will be perfect for both QD and JG. If QD is running away with the job then I think we will be just fine on the offensive side of the ball. The same would be true if it were JG by the way.

This is all JMO of course but I think you are being a wee bit silly BB.

My bro-in-law and I went to watch TN play in Lexington the year that Kiffin coached (the year Hardesty scored the game winner in OT). We waited for the team to come out and got a few autographs, including Eric. He stayed there so long (no other players were still there) that someone had to come off the bus and get him, so that the team could leave. I still remember he told the crowd that he was going to try to get to everyone. His mom and dad have raised some fine young men. Glad to call all of them Vols.

Guess that means JG isn't the transcendent talent we hoped he is? He is obviously not going to Manziel this year.

Be careful telling the FF that. They were destroying Pig yesterday and I took up for him, then it became my turn to be destroyed. That's why I said I hated the FF yesterday. I came back to the kinder, gentler RF before I ended up posting something that would have got me banned for a year.

That's insane. Pig was here during bad times and good and was productive in both situations. He's the one who provided the first spark in the turn around. If people don't remember the 'fumble in the endzone' with a little bit of pride they've forgotten what that game truly was. It's the only game we've ever lost that felt like a win because you knew things were changing.

Media thinks we're 8-4 at best, they have Butch fired before seasons end and all I see is a healthy team loaded with talent, a huge chip on their shoulders, one of the best coaching staffs in the country and an easier schedule than we've had in awhile. You guys feel that? I do too.

15-0.

Jones' teams are dangerous when they have a chip on their shoulders. I think he coaches best as an underdog.

Yes sir. Pig extended his whole body out to score that TD and fumbled an inch or less from scoring. But the FF said his fumble cost us the game and called him alligator arms and I was irate. They ended up deleting half the posts where I was arguing with them, which I should have known better. They called him a pothead and a cokehead. Not everybody, but more than I would have thought. Eventually, I said I' m gone before I get banned and I u all can go ahead and rip a VFL that gave his all for Tennessee.

Why do you think that?

We hadn't won very often at all as underdogs

doesnt have to be as dogs. Anytime people write off Butch and say he lost team the team comes out looking much better. Last yr was first year his teams had hype and he babied them. He ain't doing that this year.

Or QD is much better than people refuse to believe. Anyone that has watched this team in practice past two years has said QD and JG are both NFL QBs

I hope that is what it means. I hope it's just because QD is a NFL talent, and not because JG is a very flawed player.

Im telling yall. 8 wins regular season is good this year.

Depending on how the other teams end up and how we played in games lost. I agree. 8 win regular season with a 9th in bowl is my reasonable expectation. If everything clicks, which it never does, we can win more. That's asking for a lot to land exactly how you want it and it just doesn't work that way.
