The D plan was solid for the first three drives. Then they adjusted and we didn't. They exploited our weakness. We didn't adjust.
I can't explain that.
If that is the way this team will play this year it will be a long year.
My guess is they only installed that plan for Tech and didn't want to go traditional. Thought they could still stop them.
It worked. Barley. But it worked.
I think the ineffectiveness of the offense was a huge contributor the defenses ails. The defense effectively played a full game in the first half.
Beer
I do think that's probably why and I agree with starting the game that way. But when it starts getting down to nut cutting time and it looks like we are gonna lose the game, I would have to take my chances with risking injury.
I agree.
It does raise a question though. Although Butch claims that the goal is to go 1-0 every week, do you think that they enter certain games (Bama, for instance) with a mentality of surviving, rather than winning?
The question was rhetorical...not really looking for an answer.
With basically no substituting. Only played 3 DEs and 3 DTs until the very end when 98 played. Terrible plan for rotating players against a ball control team
You mean like Florida and Georgia who he dominated last year?
I'm a little behind from last football talk thread but all this we didn't win they lost/ we didn't deserve to win talk is CRAP. If your team has more points at the end of the game then you did what you had to to deserve the win. Unless you cheated or the referees missed/made calls that were obviously unfair, then a win is earned. Stop negating what this team and coaches did and get behind them. I'd take a game like that every time if we were on top at the buzzer.
