Jimmy Sexton would not agree to a fake extension. Not in a million years.

You've gotta extend him or fire him cause he didn't get extended last year. The only other possibility is that he wins enough for sexton to shop him to another school.

Take it ot leave it. It’s def possibly going to be a tough situation. Don’t envy Currie

LWS has depressed me reminding everyone how incompetent the admin is, boosters, etc. During Grudenmania boosters supposedly decided they had enough and went after Gruden and it was Hart who stood in the way (if that is somewhat true)- well how can those same boosters think our football team being the joke of the week now for the 4th or 5th time under Butch?!

You'd think they would say look at the revenue when we are just mediocre, imagine if we were winning titles again.

I think it will end in a mutual parting of ways... butch has a new AD, a new agent, he will probably never have the full fan support ever again unless he beats Bama and wins out. Just seems likely IMO that he moves somewhere after the season.

Jimmy Sexton isn't gonna let CBJ just walk away. CBJ is getting a new contract or a buyout.

....and if he doesn't leave for another job?

When the pain of doing nothing exceeds the pain of change, you'll change. 'You' in this context is either side, and the definition of pain is simply health vs wealth.

If Butch is miserable, he'll be looking for a way out. If he isn't winning, he'll be miserable. Money will make you tolerate a certain amount of misery, but the satisfaction of wealth comes with diminishing returns. The difference in your quality of life with $5M in the bank vs $50M in the bank isn't much in practical terms, but enjoying life is priceless.

Currie has a similar set of considerations driven almost exclusively by the number of wins. The lower that number goes, the more empty Neyland becomes, the louder the bloodlust gets, and the more donors are willing to pony up the $$ to fix it. Currie's math is actually more objective and somewhat easier to quantify than Butch's. And Currie's math becomes even easier if Butch is miserable and wants out.

I'd say the worst cast scenario season outcome is 8-4. For each loss greater than 4, or each win greater than 8, the decisions become much easier for both sides.
